these guys are crazy dude you want 2 48" t5 fixtures a warm t5 48" grow bulb a cool t5 48" grow bulb if 48" is to big then you could go a foot smaller but this is your best option make sure you go cool and warm and that there designed for growing for best results you will have no heat issues and should be easy enough to insall and will get you through veg and flow with the results that your looking for you could always install more if you want

thanks for pointing that out. it seems most of these reflectors are 22" inches and up. that would be cutting it close since the tent is only 2 feet. would you happen to know of any smaller reflectors? the only thing im finding so far is a cooltube which is 19"

Maybe you could run the cooltube diagonal in the tent... I don't know if that would work, though. Just a suggestion.

a 250 is not going to get all that hot, just exhausting the air should be enough to cool it. The autoflower strains was a good suggestion as it has a fast turn around and would allow you to finish faster and start another since you dont plan to have two different areas for growing and dont care about quantity. I am amazed by people who want to smoke but not that much. You must be a drinker, anyway good luck and keep us posted I am curious how this turns out for you

Del, I have a 2 foot 4 bulb T5 in a 2x2x4 homemade box, it will work, trust me on that. You will need to run one small fan, I use an active intake and passive exhaust with the intake near the bottom. Under the lights in runs 5-7 Deg above room temps. I would stick with an autoflower dwarf in that size box and what you are looking for in yield.

all you need is what you have and 3 light fixtures with T connectors for the bulbs. The bulb's you will need are 4 100 watt 6500k(day light) cfls and 1 150 watt 2700k(warm white) cfl but to flower you will need 4 150 watt 2700k cfls and 1 100 watt 6500k and if you can when it's raining gather the rain water in a spray bottle and water it with that or else use spring water or pure water and balance the ph as necessary between 6.3 ad 6.8 is good

I would go for a 250 watt hps magnetic ballast with use a ceramic metal halide bulb, look into autoflowering dwarf seeds from a reputable place like attitude seeds, buy a nice looking armoire off a place like craigslist, or the good will. Get some white paint paint the inside the only tool you will need is a drill with a hole saw to put in a fan to cool it. The advantage for an armoire over a grow tent is you have a place to put your chemicals, spare parts, seeds..... also if it looks like it belongs it is stealthy and people wont know what you got. and as far as having too much weed make friends give it away. many pizza delivery guys would kill for a weed tip. or make hash. Worst case scenario just flush it. but a 400 watt is over kill for what you want.

Nothing wrong with CFL's, they are pefect for small scale growing in restricted spaces.
I'm not a big smoker either, half OZ does me a month easily! I grow in a metre square cabinet thats just deep enough to take my 10" pots and I yield a good solid OZ per month average, more than I need actually, but I can shut down a couple of times per year
An alternative to tents is to buy a cheap second hand wooden chest/cabinet and convert it? Not much DIY involved and they are much less obvious than tents. I also find its easier to work with wood, more solid for hanging fixtures etc. Just my opinion.
A couple of small plants under CFL's would more than cater for your modest needs, and don't let anyone tell you that you cant grow nice buds with CFL's .
(Below) Nirvana Northern Lights, 350watts CFL's, 2 10" pots grown in a metre square cab, 1 intake, 1 exhaust fan plus a small circulation fan, temps at 78 max, averaging 75.

hey del this is my tent with 24 autos all diff kinds growing under 1200 watts. heat is not an issue. my tent is 4x4x7 and in a two bedroom apt. if that helps ya out, i jus wanted to fill my tent no empty spaces for a while wen i grow reg strains. but yeah try autos. good quality smoke an u can sog um.

i'm using cfls too and am close to harvesting my first plant. i literally turned an old computer desk upside down (white on the inside) and screwed some white boards to make it like a box and then put boards over the top that i can take off or put back in. i have like 8 cfls in there with 2 plants. i can see how you could spend a good chunk of change and grow balls out and produce incredible hulk looking plants, but you can get a couple ounces out of like 50 bucks worth of material. use the k-i-s-s method, and kiss your dealer goodbye.

im pondering whether i should sell this tent. im so freakin limited as to what i can do with it. height might be an issue also. if i got a gl80 which is 3x3x6 this would be no problem at all...
dude you guys are making it so complicated, i got a 35 plant grow room running in my basement...got them under 3 400watt hps ...dude i have a master set-up...i could grow up to 50plants if i wanted...and i spent less then $350...that includes pots,soil,lights(they where free),everything. I even bought a cloner tent...actually i modified a refrigerator and made it to a cloner...this is a professional setup, better then the ones ive seen with $4,000+ budget....and i made a better one...with less then $350...ow and i forgot to mention, im only 14years old.. xD...quit making it so difficult...its just a weed.. ow and CFL's work great for seedlings and clones by the way...

Maybe get some bigger pots, 2.5L seems small. You could start with that and then transplant them when their bigger... depends on how big you want to get them and how long you veg for
