I have a bag of male pollen sacs and was thinking of pollenating a branch off each one of my girls. do i risk pollenating the whole plant ? how much time do the seeds need to mature ?

I have another question can you get a clone to root in water ?

I just take a fine paint brush and use just a pin dot of pollen. The wind might move it around but for the most part you will be fine.

why would you want to do that? can't you make hash from the male pollen? that's what i'd do.

and also, if the seed frmo all your plants came from the same place, why wouldnt you want to just pollinate one plant?

thanks i'll look deeper into it . Actually i have three unknown strains and im unsure which will be best, so having seeds from all three allows the ability to grow which ever is best. I prefer a sativa buzz :hump:

looked up seeds, pollenating, lots of iinfo on colecting and time to apply but not so much on the act of apppling. i saw one thing that made a little sence washing off the excesss pollen so as to not pollenate more than you want to. I think fdd2blk's selective application with a brush will be my choice. It sounds risky to try my original plan pullig a bag on leaving it for a couple of days with the acasianal shake and then removing it .

Having clones from all three will be better. No risk of pollinating the entire crop. Unless all of the original plants are males you would have known female clones growing. Doing the seeding you are talking about will work, you will want to wait at least a month after harvesting the seeds before you plant them. Big difference in time. You would also have to have the same male and female strain of plant for all three different one's to keep that strain. VV

No you can't make hash from pollen. Try it if you want and then give us the smoke report, we could do with a laugh.

2nd question there is a reason, but I think you'd be better off learning the basics first.

Click on the growfaq and read the site a little get some knowledge first.

Knowledge is power.

i'm sorry, let me refrase that. you CAN make hash from the pollen. not using the same methods, but it can be done. if you don't believe me google it. i've never done it but it's supposed to smoke really well.

so if my male pollen sacks aren't from the same strain as the female i intend to pollenate, would that be crossbreeding, and which will be the dominate strain, mommy or daddy? :roll:

Yes it would be crossbreading. No way to know ahead of time which will be dominate. These are the reasons breeders spend years crossing and trying different things. There are a few in this forum that are much more familiar with this than I am. Vote to Legalize comes to mind as one that has a lot of experience.VV

thanks victor, i guess i am about to become crossbreeder :mrgreen:, really just wana try a cheap alternitive to buying seeds. not worried because i don,t start germanating until january, when the seeds will be plenty ready. I would love to clone but, all my growing is by natural light and no way to through one back into veg currently :cry:

Keep the males away from females. unless you like seedy bud.

seperate male from female and make "HASH" from the leaves of the males.

and clone the females for future growing

stupid question...when we or if we buy weed(commerical) there is most of time seeds in bag...so that would mean that gurilla grows with male in the area...why is it thoug that some bags are bad full of seeds and other are mabe like a couple..?? must be due to pollen eh........huh........peace

Helped a buddy do it like this....covered the plant with a lightweight trash bag, pulled one branch out through a hole...took the bag of pollen and placed it over the exposed branch....removed the trash bag and left the pollen bag on for 2 days, think he fucked up some of the trichomes on the rest of the plant when he did this though...I think I like the paint brush idea better
