But now we also call them and say nice things to them and invite them to have the most beautiful piece of cake you have ever seen in your whole entire life.

Sad.

how so? where i went to high school, we had zipcodes that were extremely wealthy and some dirt poor yet the school itself was one of the top in the state. everybody got the benefit of being a public school funded thru tax dollars.

i can see your point in some aspects where rich people might donate more than poor to a police dept and i guarantee that the response times would be a bit quicker in the richer neighborhoods. that's not a function of socialism, that's reality.
Dude, schools in poor areas are not equal to those in wealthier ones. Maybe you can point at districts with wealthy and poor areas where the schools are about the same. But entire districts especially in rural areas where the tax base is poor have poorly funded school systems.

i'll type slower so you can understand:

publicly funded and government run police, fire and schools are Socialism.

if it were privately funded, do you think the schools, fire or police would be as good in a poor neighborhood as they would in a rich neighborhood.

America is a healthy mix of Socialism and Capitalism. Has been and probably always will be.
The sheriff of Nottingham was a copper, there was no socialism then, London had its first municipal fire brigade in 1824,there was no socialism their yet, and way to many examples to mention
what was your point again

Well, at least the guys are talking about it;
I like my taxes to pay for police, fire, schools etc. Not all aspects of Socialism are evil.
Corporate socialism IS a problem, and that needs to end. We give trillions in tax breaks and subsidies to corporations, many of whom are incredibly profitable. Why do they need it and the average American citizen doesn't?

Because the people that own you lot also own the corporations
You lot are on the hook for more than 20trillion, probably 30 by the time the Trumpster gets out of office
Guess who runs the socialists

Connect the dots for us, then.

Funny you should say that. Kind of proof positive that those functions are privately funded.
Hey, @666888 , disparity in school funding based upon education is evidence that we are not a socialist country.

That "like" you put at the bottom of my post must mean you endorse this conclusion. You are a dumb sock troll. Go away.

I don't advocate violent revolution, but the Framers of our Constitution installed two ways for amendments to be enacted; by the Congress and by the States.

I know it seems like a long shot, but I think it's necessary to end the tyranny if Citizens United.

If corporations weren't able to shovel vast sums of cash into our political system anymore, then perhaps politicians would be more responsible and responsive to We the People.

and it would be even worse if it was privatized and not funded by tax dollars, yes?
Poor parents can't even afford $4,000 per year to pay for schooling so in the scenario you list, their kids wouldn't get an education at all. My understanding is that Trump et al are pushing for making tax dollars available to private religious schools which would dilute the pool of money for all public schools. So what's left over might be 4,000 per year per student in all public schools. In other words, all public school funding would be bad. Meanwhile parents with the means will have to pay extra to private schools on top of tax dollars just to provide a decent education to their own.

are police, fire and schools highly profitable corporations? that's the part of socialism i'm for.
Agreed. Let's extend socialized school through University. Let's extend socialism to healthcare for all.

Let's pay for it by removing subsidies from major corporations and outlawing corporate campaign funding- after all, most of those billions spent are currently TAX DEDUCTIBLE. In other words, We the People are subsidizing the wholesale corruption of our political and economic system.

And it turns out that private schools are doing some pretty corrupt things with all that money.
