America’s Millennials Are Waking Up to a Grim Financial Future

Isn't a grim financial future created by the individual?

No, everyone has grim financial outlooks. Unless you have big money, like multiple millions, already, you're fucked.

The difference lies in outlooks of millenials. Some are stuck in their parent's "well if you just save your money and live like a pauper, you might maybe have enough money when you die (assuming you have top tier health insurance somehow also) that your kids can have a little head start and maybe make it up a tax backet" budget mind. I would say most realize they are fucked and will never actually own a home or have a savings account worth having, even if they get a mortgage, so why bother with any of it?

That sounds so negative. So we should all get together and jump off a tall building . . . Or maybe we should choose our future and work toward a greater good.

I'm with you. But until people realize that the doctor making 200k a year has infinitely more in common financially with a single mom working two waitress jobs and getting WIC benefits, than the donor class in DC and maralago, we are fucked.

Nothing is going to ever get done to truly help the vast majority of the population. They have us too manipulated into hating each other over what amounts to nothing in the grand scheme of humanity or the future of the United States.

When enough people feel this way, the next step is nothing left to lose. And that's when the fun starts!

First thing to do is to take our country back from the oligarchs.

Reversing Citizens United must come first, or nothing else will stick.

in just about an hour from now
if you're not feeling any less sour
you should promise yourself to treat yourself by visiting a nearby tower

Nope

Republicans are to blame. You are naive.
Lol

The notion that we got into the situation we're in because only one party is bad and the other is good is naive, not to mention childishly simplistic.

But keep plugging for your team, even though they've demonstrated time and again they give no fucks about you.

Short of a constitutional amendment, which won't happen, how do you do pull this off?
By any means necessary. I'm honestly not sure exactly how it can be best accomplished, I'm only sure that it must be done to preserve our democracy.

The choice is as stark as it is simple; either we get money out of politics and restore the rule of law and accountability at all levels of government or we follow the example of Nazism right to the end of the world.

I don't think the implications of this choice can be overstated.
