No mother has an easy time of rasing 5 kids (or whatever). But during her speech she talked of knowing what doctor to call when one of the kids was sick. This in itself demonstrates the disconnect. Most moms don't get to call doctors at any time of the day or night - they don't have such relationships with doctors - they either call a nurse if they are lucky or they cart their kid off to urgent care. Not Ann though, she gets to call a boutique doctor who arranges everything, maybe calls the pharmacy so Ann's help can go pick up some cold medicine.
They all claim that hers was a heroic story of managing MS. Now no one with MS has an easy time of it, but someone who has to battle with her insurance company to pay a portion of the bills, and then decide if her 5 kids dinner is more important than her meds has a tougher time. Someone who can afford therapy, the finest hospitals, the best drugs and never has to worry about making sure she isn't fired from her secretary job while she copes has a much harder time of it. Romney has never been exposed to real hardship even if she does have MS and even if she did raise 5 kids.
