I would say firstly "don't give up" because anything worth while takes time and research. Perhaps read more to reduce your frustration level. Here's what my friend Pedro does for his seeds.

1. Small sealable container - could be Glad / tupperware / ziplock baggie
2. Paper towel - bounty etc
3. Soak paper towel and drain off any excess water
4. Place seeds between paper towel and damped top if not completely damp yet.
5. Place in a warm place that has temperatures betwee 75 - 85F or 24 - 29Celsius
6. Check and spray dampen daily as needed until tap root appears to be about 0----- long
7. Get small cups or containers and fill with potting mix of your preference ( Pedro uses 50% potting mix 50% perlite)
8. Take a pencil and making sure its sharp ( :P) poke the pencil into the soil until it's about a 1/4 - 1/2 inch into the soil. Gently cover the top of the seed with a little soil (read don't pack down hard but just cover)
9. Carefully ( Pedro uses tweezers) take see and drop into hole with tap root facing downwards.
10. Thoroughly water soil until water coming out of bottom of container then...
11. Spritz or add a few tablespoons of PH balanced water every morning and night(read as long as its always damp / moist)until seedling pushes through soil

Done and done ( I'm sure someone has already told you this though :))

Most importantly HAVE FUN! If you can't find something else to do because you should enjoy this new hobby :)

peace n love

Ask Pedro about light. I was told that the moist-warm cup of soil and seed should be kept in the dark until it pops up and unfurls it's flags. Then put under lights that are a foot away for a day or so. Then move the lights (cfl) a couple inches away after about 48 hours. Zero nutrients for the first week or two?

Ask Pedro next time you see him ;)

Know what?
one of my plants have sprouted and is doing real good :) nlooks nice and green... will update pics soon anough.. :D

but none of the others have sprouted.. :(
so, i put more seeds to germinate...

oh one question... is it really necessary to put the seeds to germinate in the dark?
i've put em in my grow cab.. :D.. cos its nice and warm in there :P

Nice then.. i'll keep it in my cab itself :)

and well, for my other "plants" that havnt yet sprouted, i think i'll wait for 2 days till my other seeds germinate, if i dont see any progress, i'll dig em up :(

Dig them up carefully, as they could be reaching for the surface. I'd wait for a week or so to see..but it's up to you. Good luck!

Pedro just follows the directions above and then puts them in his grow cab under the CFL's dark is neither here nor there. 98% success rate. Correct on the nutrients.

Pedro doesn't keep them in the dark at all. The only dark they get is during lights out and when they are under the soil.

Yes patience is key, It's like fishing you don't get a bite as soon as you throw it in....well not usually, You have to wait.
