Any clue what the issue could be?

Hey, been on the site for a while but this is basically my first attempt at growing. Got some clones through dark heart on June 1 (4x purple punch, 1x romulan, 1x pink nepali). Ive just been giving them filtered water for most of the month. I didn't have any florourecents day 1 so I left them mostly in the shade for 10 days or so.. i know lighting is preferable if bringing them straight from a club..

A few of them seemed to show signs of flowering within two weeks so I got some florourecents to put them under after the sun went down till morning for 10 days and for the past 5 days or so I've giving them around 18 hours total of light.

I transplanted to one gallon pots at around three weeks which seemed to go fine, but in the last week or so growth has slowed and the discoloration is new in the last 3 to 4 days, with exception to one or two yellow leaves which had been that way since the first week.

Two days ago as they were looking droopy and lighter in color I gave them a bit of flora nova (quarter tsp in a gallon) and silica (half tsp in gallon) divided between 7 plants but they weren't fully dry so I only used three quarters of that gallon. My buddy who is growing the same batch of purple punch clones outside had been giving his flora nova and silica since two weeks in, and while mine were doing better at first, his seem happier now.

I've been testing ph of water frequently and it's been good for the most part, but maybe a week ago gave them some that was maybe as low as 4.0.. hoping that wasn't a huge issue..

The thing is, my buddy brought one of his girls over a day or two after I got the florescent as he worried of it flowering, so I've been tending to her the same as my girls, and she looks great. He took her home tonight in case it was something that spreads..

I'm new to all of this but I am wondering if this could be from nutrient deficiency or lockout? Hoping it's nothing more serious like disease.. maybe slight heat burn as well? The discoloration of some of the leaves are quite concerning.

Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton.

Filtered water means RO water? They look “droppy” because they were overwatered so let them dry out well between watering. And the yellowing could be deficiency (RO water) or root problems (root rot? because of systematic overwatering). I think you need more watering/feeding practice (no offense of my side). Good luck with your grow

Also almost black stems! never seen this colour before, but think this is because of phosphorus deficiency (maybe not your case). They have really hard life and it will be also hard struggle to bring them back to vigorous grow...

No unfortunately I don't have a way to get RO water currently. Just using water filters and checking ph.

I was worried about overwatering in the beginning, so I let them dry out way more than my buddy let's his, but maybe I gave them too much after transplanting.

Absolutely no offense taken bro! I'm here to learn.

So I'm just gonna let them dry out and see if anything improves.

When I do give them more water, should I add some silica/flora nova?

Thanks for your time!

don't listen to this guy, he tells everyone they have a P deficiency, click on the link I posted above a read.

So from what I read and heard from others was that I was most likely just overwatering.

I let them dry out and they have improved, but some leaves have these brown circles on them and I want to make sure its not some type of fungus or something else I need to worry about? Here are some pics of the affected girls (I know one began flowering early)

Any opinions would be awesome!

the new growth looks good. have you fed them?

I doubt my issue is temp related as my buddy has his plants outside and they are thriving, he lives very close. Just regular california weather.

Growth looks good on top but the bottom leaves are still getting brown circular spots from time to time..

Not sure if I am nutrient deficient, experiencing root rot, or something else entirely.. ill snap a better photo or two and post again soon.

Yes I let them dry out for a few days then fed them. They are quite dry again so I'm gonna give them some water now. But I notice more of these brown spots as the days go on. Gonna snap a better photo asap to show the affected leaves.

You let them dry out, good.. if i was reading correctly you gave 7 plants 2/3 of a gallon? I would suggest for now on when you water each one.. get some good runoff. If you haven't gave enough water to flush the nutes throughout the soil, it may have some salt build up. Next time you water them.. get runoff on each one then walk away for a few days and let them dry up.

Sounds good. The first time I gave nutes I forgot to flush with some regular water which my buddy thought could be the issue..

So I should water now without nutes and just wait a few days, yeah? Would measuring the ph of the runoff be indicative of anything?

Was thinking of transplanting to 5 gallon pots soon.. if i do is there an easy way to check for root rot?

what are you feeding and at what amount? forget the word flush. never dump mass amounts of water thru your soil. It takes a long time for salt to build up. and measuring run off tells you nothing. are you using distilled water?

An ec/ppm meter is a great tool to have also. I’d give half of what you’v been giving them of nutes. When I said “flush” I didn’t mean a mass amount of water. Give each plant half dose of nutes. Water each one enough to get back around 20 %. Throw that runoff out and don’t let the plants soak in it. Do this every time you water. The pot should feel light when you pick it up before you water it. Once the plant starts looking better then you can up your nutes back to where they were or more depending on what stage your plants are at. I’m only giving suggestions. You’ll get it buddy

For the first few weeks just tap water with a brita type filter. Havent used distilled water.

First time i used just a 1/4 tsp of flora nova grow and 1/2 tsp silica in one gallon of water, which I used half of to feed 7 small girls (didn't flush).

A few days ago once they'd dried out my buddy mixed me a gallon containing either 1/4 or 1/2 tsp flora nova, 1 tsp fox farm grow big, and likely another 1/2 tsp silica.

I'd like an ec/ppm meter but wasn't sure if it was worth an investment since friends have gotten by without it. Any specific brand or any cheap generic one will do?

Just for the record, my friend who has the exact same strain from the exact same dispensary with the same water and filters, pots soil etc etc had trouble with his girls at first, but right now they are absolutely perfect and he has been giving his plants higher doses of all the same stuff I've used. He also waters more often, so he was skeptical about me over watering, but who knows..

Now they are nice and dry and ill give them some filtered water in a few minutes. Then next time some more nutes based on feedback.

I truly appreciate all the suggestions guys, puts my mind at ease knowing help is so easily accessible. Happy 4th, if you live in the states at least, heh!
