There are some people who do, but the general opinion seems to be that MG's soils aren't a good choice because they're too hot, too time-released. You try to flush, you release more nutrients, etc. (This sounds to me like a genuine criticism, not the religious/political dislike some have for Scotts/MG for being part of the Big Agro takeover of food production, etc.).

It might be good if you mixed it with something like Pro-Mix HP. But, you've already received a few suggestions to go with Kellogg Patio Plus or other products like Black Gold(?). There's no reason to tempt fate.

that's what plan on getting if my lowes carrys Kellogg patio plus or blck gold..don't know witch one of them too would be better and just seeing if anyone actually uses this stuff on a regular

I think I mentioned in one of your other threads that I use Kellogg Patio Plus and Pro-Mix HP. (20-25% Kellogg, 20-25% perlite, 50-60% Pro-Mix). It's a nice, light soil. Low built-in nutrients.

You've been talking about doing organic with nutrients built into the soil. I think that's a bad idea for a new grower. But, maybe I'm wrong.

You've talked about using MG nutrients. Not a bad choice for a new grower. (Better than the cannabis-specific boutique "lineups" IMO.).

Also using Kellogg Patio Plus by itself. I wouldn't do that. I think it's too heavy, too high PH, too bark'y.

If I were you I'd make that trip to Lowes and see what's available, then discuss the pros and cons of each.

what should I be looking for there....I know they sale the shit out of mg products and ive got my eye on kelloggs ..
Seems like that discussion has been happening for a few days now. You ask hypotheticals about using different things because you don't know what they have. Go make a list of what they have? You could start getting down to real options.

EDIT: Don't get into analysis paralysis. Make a decision and go with it. I don't think you can make that decision without knowing what's available to you.
