just saw these at hydro store today, sticker on side says only for use with sunpulse lamps and appeared to have a button on the splitter part too, was just grabbing a few items so I didn't ask anyone about it unfortunately.

Anyone else use this setup?

If your going to buy 2 600 watt lights you should concider buying this. (could save a few bucks,)
That is not the same as 2 600w lights... Its running two 600w bulbs but both are being dimmed considerably. It's like running a 600w bulb on a dimmable ballast below the regular operating wattage.

That is crazy expensive - you could easily buy an additional high quality 600w ballast for the same price. Or look into one of these - http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=lumatek+dual+600w+digital+ballast&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=2396500087652175327&sa=X&ei=bkfYTuXdI4XYiALFwPWjCg&ved=0CGsQ8wIwAA

Legit dual 600w ballast for the same price as your splitter.

Issue with the splitter and the dual ballast, you loose one ballast, you lose both! If i am going to do a dual light grow i will make sure that the ballasts are separate so that when (not if) i lose one, i can still have one going until i can replace the issue unit.

From what I've researched the only advantage to lease setups is exspence. By using a $100 magnetic balast, they put out almost 1200 watts of power.
The bulbs are suposed to give you more of a life span than regular hps bulbs also.
Big disadvantage as Trueno said one bulb or balast blows your in the dark with both.

I like the idea with the bulbs, their 3k bulb puts off a little more blue than a standard hps bulb.
I'm still up in the air with these.
I would like to hear from someone using them to see what they think of them.

Thanks guys for the help
