Anyone have experience with Datura?

Im intrested in giving Datura a go. Ive seen some shit on youtube and it looks like theres a element missing to make the trip an actuall enjoyable experience. My moddo is dont nock it untill you try it so i still want to try it. Have you tried Datura? How would you imagine the experience if you synergised it with a stimulant like MDMA? Whats your thoughts? Do you think this would positivly charge the trip taking out the 'hell' out of it?, the predisposition for the feelings of hopelessness that i see in the auras of the people on datura on youtube..

Yeah..I ingested 40 unripe seeds of Datura inoxia. And basically the next 10 hours or so I was facing my deepest fears and had no control over myself and I'm seeing people die n ahit..and the next day when i knew I was on Datura and that I was hallucinating i had ticks all over me..the entire day

It's called a deliriant for a reason.

Better try Fly Agaric for something more mild and potentially less dangerous.

You can also try DPH if you really want a deliriant to see if you like it.

Frica is correct. Long ago I was interested until learning that the lethal dose is not much more than the buzz dose.

Have you guys read any trip reports on it? Erowis has some really interesting reports. I love tripping but I think this is something I'd pass on. It looks like a one way ticket to jail, dead, or really fucking some shit up. Plus long after the dose like months people continue to have very noticeable side effects, however if you do, it sounds like a terrible idea to mix mdma since the datura raises body temperature and heart rate and causes severe dehydration, and mdma, does those same things it could be a deadly combination I think it's a bad idea honestly. But if your hell bound and determined please do ALOT OF research on it first.

I met a guy that had survived a dose. He described it as "more delirious and less trippy". He had trouble breathing and spent most of the bad trip thinking he was going to die.

Seeee that's why that stuff just isn't very appealing everything I read is just so negative about it lol

Agreed, electricslide. We took a road trip to AZ to meet some (circa 1980) modern shamen and they did not paint a pretty picture, I remember being told about the rite of passage and that it was not a given that the young man would survive. That's kinda freaky.

Problem with Datura is not just that the effective dose is so close to a lethal dose.

The real problem is that every plant has a different potency, and it can wildly vary.
So you can at most do 1 seed at a time to gradually test the potency, otherwise you may get issues because last time for example 4 seeds gave the buzz dose, but this time it's 4 seeds from another plant and suddenly it's lethal dose.

Also it can have lasting side effects since most deliriants rely on outright poisoning your body.

May as well get some e-liquid and attempt a trip with 100 mg nicotine. (isn't a nice experience)

I realize that most people don't want to set up labs in their homes, but with a silica gel TLC plate, some solvent and Dragendorf's reagent, you can learn to estimate potency very well for tropanes. But I think we are in agreement that even if one could hit the dose right, Datura is not a top pick. I get a kick out of this Wikapedia comment: "No other psychoactive substance has received as many severely negative recreational experience reports as has Datura."

In terms of mode of action? There are publications that point to blockage of the M1 receptor by Hyoscine. At high doses, it is a CNS depressant and I'd always thought that led to the sleep state delirium.

I've done it. I played it safe and brewed small cups of largish leaves and parts of the seed pod
At first there wasn't much. Simular to a soma
After two and a half cups I felt like I could breath better.lol.. ( back in the day it was used as a bronchial dialator.)
My experience was mild but I couldn't piss. Had to go ducking bad, but my body wouldn't let me. I awoke after 17 hours which seemed like 30 minutes of sleep
And I couldn't focus my eyes, fucking sucked.. I would say from what I experienced it's not fun! At all.. Although it wasn't my worsted time I've had..lol.
