So you are saying in the Past the President of the United States of America did NOT have very many resources at his disposal when it came to information? You also seem to be stating that a Mayan calander publisher seems to have a better understanding of future events than say a president of the united states?

Lincoln was during the civil war so no not many resources at all, like i said in those days the centre of information was europe, who had a strong hold on most technologies and information. You have also completely blindly read my post, i said that NOWHERE did the mayans predict the end of the world and to say that anyone has an understanding of the future is stupid, we can only understand repetitive cycles and predict off those. I have another q for you, why is it that mayan and aztec architecture has lasted several thousand years? ......

Be serious now, in the last few thousand years america along with most of the world have been too interested in money and religion. So, you're saying that Cilvil War era America had fewer resources at its disposal than the Mayans of circa 800 or so? And I think the architecture has lasted because it's made out of big ass stones in a region that has not been the victim of modern day bombing runs. Besides, didn't the Mayans just pretty much disappear? Seems like they should have seen that coming before seeing the end of days...

Oh, I am so very sure it will too.

People always like to believe things will get better rather than worse. That is why with the unfathomable carnage and incalculably high number of deaths of WWI people just knew that it could never be repeated, that mankind would not allow something that horrific to ever occur again and it became known as the war to end all wars.

But what happened just 21 years later? What all has occurred in the world since?

Don't fool yourself into believing that as a whole mankind is evolving into a kinder gentler more caring more accepting more tolerant and more loving species. As a whole we are every bit as bad as we ever were, if not worse.

I don't know what country you live in, and I am not asking, but with the massive amount of new debt that has been piled up under Obama, in three years when the larger parts of his spending kick in the national debt to GDP ratio of the U.S. will be on par with an average third world nation.

Things will become very wonderful for not only the U.S. but for the entire world when that happens.

I am sure that someone with a pair of rose colored glasses with really thick lenses can comfort themselves by saying in a thousand years or two thousand years everything will be wonderful. I am also sure that people have been saying the same thing ever since languages existed .. but take a look around and see how accurate their predictions were.

The guy who shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in the head, along with shooting 12 more people, killing one of them, has been described in the news media as; "a pot smoking loner," as if reefer madness played a part in his insanity.

In the last election there was a statewide vote in California, the most liberal state in the U.S., to legalize small possession of small quantities of marijuana. It failed, it was voted down, it did not pass, not in the most liberal state in the entire U.S.

Even with all it's proven medicinal properties and the promise of far many yet to be found there are now only, what, 16 states in the U.S., along with the District of Columbia, that allow it for medicinal use. That's only 16 states out of 50 states, plus the District of Columbia.

We are still a very long way away from "EVERYONE" knowing; "that weed is harmless."
