Just ordered one that has the new style aluminum hood. Curious how you like them and would like to hear any issues or positives about them compared to other brands.
Thanks
Thanks
Yea I'm running one. 4x6 foot print is super great. Runs hotter then i thought it would run, but no plant problems yet. My first DE lamp so no comparisons from me. Got a few pics if you want to see how there working for me.Just ordered one that has the new style aluminum hood. Why would Gavita be a waste of money? What is the difference to you?I'd say the Nanolux totally kick ass. Why waste money on Gavita?
Awesome, so it does a 4x6 footprint as well? That's bad ass as I thought it was for a 5x5, if it can do both that's great! Would love to see how it's doing for sureYea I'm running one. 4x6 foot print is super great. Runs hotter then i thought it would run, but no plant problems yet. I was thinking the same.. And with the features it has, it seems to be a really great setupI'd say the Nanolux totally kick ass. Why waste money on Gavita?
About $120 bucks. Why would Gavita be a waste of money? What is the difference to you?
So the guy i bought it from uses one as well he was the one who told me 4x6. Honestly i see a 5x6 foot print now under the lights. So pic 1 day 1 of 12/12 and pic 2 is day 15 of 12/12. Im pretty stoked with the growth. I did buy the phillips bulb though.Awesome, so it does a 4x6 footprint as well? That's bad ass as I thought it was for a 5x5, if it can do both that's great! Wow that growth is pretty awesome, very nice! 5x6 would be killer!! So the Phillips bulb works in the fixture as well? What wattage are you running it at? Also, do you have the fixture that has the WiFi connection? Can you run the setup with a regular timer like normal fixtures ?So the guy i bought it from uses one as well he was the one who told me 4x6. Honestly i see a 5x6 foot print now under the lights. Im running at the 1000 watt setting. Im running this lamp plugged into an 8 light controller then into a regular timer, but would guess a regular timer would be fine. Yes fixture is the wifi chip ready. And yes my choice was either the phillips or the bulb that comes with the phantom DE i don't remember what that one is called.Wow that growth is pretty awesome, very nice! 5x6 would be killer!! OK great, I have a contact relay on a timer so that'll work fine. Will most brands of bulbs be able to handle the 1200w setting? I can't remember which bulb the Phantom uses but I know @Aeroknow uses them and could chime in - I'll be buying more fixtures soon, the nanolux sounded great but I may mix and match with phantoms but not sure, I know the Phantoms do 4x6 perfectly. But 5x6 with the nano, I could get used to that lolIm running at the 1000 watt setting. Most of the phantom complete DE setups come with the agrosun bulb.OK great, I have a contact relay on a timer so that'll work fine. Will most brands of bulbs be able to handle the 1200w setting? A few of the guys pull 4+ w the gavidas, but they us take longer to veg only pulling 4x a year. I stick w cubes 3 week veg n flip. 6x a year I pull this way. I utilize a 5 x 4.5 footprint and get 2.5+ w no co2I pull 3lbs from some of the flavors i rock per Phantom DE fixture. The open ended ones are perfect for a 4'x6' area.
If gavitas blow them away, that means I should expect to be pulling 4elbows per light?
The guys @ the shops always try to sell you "better" bulbs, claiming better results. It's their jobMost of the phantom complete DE setups come with the agrosun bulb.
I have some with the agrosun, and some with the ushio bulb. Same results
Did all of the hoods have the same bulbs and we're you using the same footprint for each light? That's a nice yield for sure, I wonder if the DE test would have been a bit closer if utilizing different footprints or something. I got the new nanolux with the new shape reflector and figure it should be comparable, I think monster gardens did a review and said they were pretty good. I can get gavita for almost the same price though, hmmm too many damn brands of lights lolWe bought phantom, nanolux, denova, tsunami, gavida and a few other double ended ballasts to decide which brand to fill the rooms with.
The gavida killed them all. Ran all sky walker og, same res as I use dripers and the 2 gavida fixtures yielded 5.2 lbs, 23% higher yield than the denova which came in second
I'm guessing I should just use the Nano bulb because I'm still not sure if other brand bulbs can handle 1215w with out breaking, I'd like to try ushio or Phillips, I hear good things about thoseMost of the phantom complete DE setups come with the agrosun bulb.

Can you explain your veg? Like for me on this first run with my DE I topped twice and veg almost 5 weeks. Flowered at 24 inches tall.I pull 3lbs from some of the flavors i rock per Phantom DE fixture. The open ended ones are perfect for a 4'x6' area.

We used the bulbs that came w the hoods. The tables where 4x8 @ the time. All hoods where adjusted so the leaf temp was 82 degrees ( the gavidas where 2-3x further than the others, also this was about 2 years ago I believe Nanolux now offers more power) the plants where same strain from same veg room that came from 1 mom.Did all of the hoods have the same bulbs and we're you using the same footprint for each light? I end up vegging for around 7 weeks when I do 5 plants per 4x4 area. Or 10 per 4x8 tray in 7gal pots. About 5 weeks for when i do 9-5 gal pots per 4x4. But at first I go real easy on them, so it could def be done faster. Can you explain your veg? Like for me on this first run with my DE I topped twice and veg almost 5 weeks.
