Ive been looking at the recipe, and im trying to figure out if its going to cost a shitload to get all the soil i need to get this done. Im gunna have 3 3x3x3 holes and 3 200 gallon grow bags. I dont really know how much super soil its going to take, but it sounds like its going to cost a lot. Anyone got any ideas? Im cool with spending all the cash i need tho to get the best result. Even if i gotta pay like $500 (i hope this is a decent number lol) to get all the soil and nut's, etc. Can i re-use it ever year? Im sure ill have to put more nutes in it every year, but i figure the base soil is going to cost the most for me. Just planning for 2014 lol

so 600 gallons plus say 60 gfor the holes total .....so 660 gallons of soil ...................damn

this is going to cost the most effect way i can think of is buy the bulk raw items and mix

u need to find a super soil u like and then find out what is in a gallon
from there u need to look up the items and the shipping cost
as for the soil it self with u adding in all the bat poop and worm castings any old soil will work

the over all best soil on the market is sunshine mix #4 (if u can copy that or use some it might be the best choice)

these were all done in SS, you need to go back a few episodes to when they planted to see how much they used.

You might look around for a local soil company that provides soil and compost mixes for gardeners and landscapers.

I got 1 yard (200 gallons) of organic garden soil for my base soil this year (basically the stuff you would use for a vegetable garden) It cost me $47 if I remember right and it filled my entire truck bed. I added a bunch of goodies to it but it was pretty good stuff on its own. It had good stuff in it like blood meal, kelp meal, horse compost, bone meal, azomite, oyster shell, etc.

006 (2) - Copy.jpgCHRONIC.jpgRhinoHumpenPanda - here's a couple of shots of plants I grew in super soil this year. this first one is Tangerine Dream, and she didn't like it - I think I didn't mix the soil thoroughly enough and/or didn't let the mix cook long enough - she got fried! The second pic is chronic and she loved it - I probably won't run super soil again outside but I would try it indoors... now - I spent about $350 per hole on soil/amendments and another $50 in liquid nutes - if I could have I would have brewed up a weekly tea for them... next year. I used a yard per hole (my base mix was $100/yd), half of each hole's soil amended and the other half left as it was. next year I'll use more soil - a yard and a half per hole. if you do go with the super soil, I would recommend you mix well, let it cook plenty, and test the ph and NPK values before you plant so you don't torch a plant like I did! good luck
