Anyone with a bit of experience? TOPPING!

Im just trying to figure something out here. When you first top a plant and those two top nodes turn into tops themselves do they also grow another set of nodes on the sides of them? I topped my plant the other day and the new tops seem to be growing fine but at the bottoms of each one theres some new growth coming in on the sides of them by the stipuli. Im just wondering are these new nodes or is it a sign of sex? Im running on 18/6 so i dunno if it would even be showing signs of sex yet. Myself, i thought they didn't show signs of sex until the first week or two of flower. But, some other people here have the feeling it could be a male.

could be either sex or new shoots, I've seen preflowers at 4 weeks old.

I hope it's not a male. that will suckkk! It's been in veg now for about 5 weeks. Im hoping it's just gonna be new nodes but i have a feeling im gonna end up having to chop er down :'( loll.

Ahh well, i have 3 femd trainwreck seeds and another shitty bagseed to play with. Just the hassle of starting over again really bugs me.

sometimes you can see preflowers at around 5 or so weeks from seed.. you don't have to go to 12/12 for them to show signs of sex.. sometimes, its much easier to see the preflowers once flipped, but you should still be able to see them before hand..
are the nodes alternating on her yet, or are they still coming out evenly? if they are alternating, it could possibly be preflowers..

it seems the top nodes are alternating. i have one a bit shorter then the other if thats what you're refering to. they both are growing but one does seem to be on a bit faster of a grow rate then the other. all the other nodes seem to be growing fine& evenly though.

you'll know by the weekend what's going on

yea, i think i may throw it into flower tonight (her morning) and see what comes out cause it will bug the shit outta me til i know for sure, loll. If it ends up being female then ill just continue on with the flowering for the hell of it and just start up one of the trainwrecks i have. If it were to be a female what do you guys expect would yeild from a plant about 18 inches high going into flower?

depends on your light power.

it will be a 600w hps. ill have to leave it under the cfls for tonight. so ill switch the light cycle & then tomorow ill have it under that in time for her morning.

If you only got one plant you'll want to vege that for another month at least retopping your new shoots to broaden out your plant. A 600 watt light could produce over a pound of bud if you had enough plant matter under it to absorb all the light.
