apologies to the board...

"A teacher asked us if anybody knew the names of the continents. I was sooo excited. I was like, Damn it! It's my first day of 7th grade, I'm in junior high and I know this answer. So I raised my hand, I was the first one, and I said A-E-I-O-U!" ~Jessica Simpson

how so?

stock market is up, home values are coming back, unemployment is down, domestic energy production is way up, equal rights are being extended to gays, cannabis is becoming more and more accepted and even legal...what country are you in?
We get booms after recessions, this is the smallest one yet, for all intents and purposes.

The stock market would have gone up with a gorilla in the white house.

Energy production is up on private lands. He won't allow a pipeline. Credit to Obama here doesn't pass the smell test. You want to give him credit for allowing property rights?

How is the offshore drilling, pipeline, and public land energy production coming?

What advancement have we made toward renewable energy? At least bush gave lip service to hydrogen fuel cells.

Unemployment is so far down that the minimum wage has become an issue - great jobs for all.

Want to talk about Obama handling a crisis?

He let BP spray corexit all over the gulf, sinking the oil to the bottom where all the shrimp, oysters, and pretty much the life cycle of the Gulf starts.
Way to go there pal.

so under obama, stock market's up, housing is on the rebound, domestic energy production is tops in decades, and you say the country is ruined?

dumbass.

go check the ARRA for some examples of advancements in renewables.

Obviously the country isn't actually ruined.

Bush didn't do it, and Obama isn't either.

But the things you choose to praise him make me laugh.

The stocks are up? You know that translates to rich fucks getting richer. It's a measure of profitability of companies, not the vitality of the middle class.

Energy production is up due to fracking on private lands, something you and Obama are more likely to oppose than favor. The things he could do to increase productivity he hasn't done.

The president doesn’t control all things. Some people do things on their own.

that was an easy enough reversal.

Bush didn't do it, and Obama isn't either.

you've heard of these things called 401Ks which the soon to retire baby boomers count on to fund their retirements, right?

Yes, you heard how a big chunk of them sold out in 2009 out of fear of falling to zero?

The stock market is more of an indication of how well the wealthy are doing than the middle class.

Stock market is in a bubble, dumbass.

That's right it improves, right before it tanks and creates the greatest depression, and on top of it we'll lose the reserve currency status, and the almighty dollar won't be worth the paper it's printed on. Along with all the investments and the paper their printed on.

Oh wait, the dollar already isn't worth the paper it's printed on.:hump:

lol.......let the Fed taper their bond-buying, and you will see the REAL stock market. zero economic growth in first quarter of 2014. bogus unemployment levels masked by huge public sector hiring and manipulating the numbers on unemployment. sky-rocketing food prices.
yeah.......we're doing great :)

The vast majority of Americans have less than 20k in any kind of savings, so how many just in general, or how many have or are likely to have enough to retire on?

Who's fault is that?

The government confiscates people's income forcibly for retirement already. Although it really isnt for retirement, it is a ponzi scheme.
