Are air conditioner/dehumidifier combo any good ?

Hi everyone !
Next week I will buy a dehumidifier since the grow tent goes up to 92% when lights are off .
In the summer here it's too hot and I didn't plan to grow ,but I saw those combos AC/Dehumid.
and was wondering if any of you guys use one and if you like it or not . Would it be better to buy them
separately ?

An air conditioner is a dehumidifier really. Most are able to dehum by lowering the fan speed to slow the air over the coil which removes moisture, in dry mode they typically automatically do just that but will allow some over cooling. Is temperature a big issue? The problem with an AC is if there is no load it won't run. A dedicated dehum heats the discharge air so no cooling. If temps are always high then an AC will probably work to dehum, if not then yup you'll need a dedicated dehum. If you post the make and model I can have a look and see what it actually does.

It's a Uberhaus 3 in 1 AC 10 000 BTU ,they have a 3 years waranty. Heat is only a problem during hot summer days , so I would not use the AC the rest of the year .

Can't you just run the lights at night and vent to the outdoors using a scrubber (no smell)?
If you've got a decent fan, even a little 6" can move some serious air. Worst case -- you're buds are a little fluffy. Ain't no big thang.
I've got an older can max fan that kicks butt. The new ones are even better!

Or you could just unhook the discharge hose when dehumidifying so it doesn't cool the room down but will dehumidify well.

I have a dedicated exhaust that is controlled by a humidistat (passive intake), never runs and set at 55. Very rarely do I have humidity issues in the winter as the fresh air intake (cycled 10 on 50 off) keeps it dry. But it is typically -15, almost tropical this winter though, probably a bad thing, but lovin it :(.
