Hi peeps and peepettes,

Are the laws fair where you live?

I'm curious to find some information about the differences in the laws about marijuana around the world.

This question isn't posted to create a conflict or debate but is a simple multiple choice question posed in a non-threatening manner.

If you'd like to add a comment about the laws and or your situation, please do so, keeping in mind that this is meant to be friendly & civil.

Lets all be respectful of each others ideas and viewpoints.

I think it would be interesting to see where the differences in percentages are.

Possession of 30 grams or less of marijuana is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500. The penalties for possession of greater than 30 grams increase to a possible one year in prison and a fine up to $5,000.
Delivery for no remuneration of 30 grams or less of marijuana is treated as possession with a possible penalty of 30 days in jail and a fine up to $500. Cultivation, delivery or sale of 1,000 pounds or less is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000. For amounts greater than 1,000 pounds, the penalty increases to a possible 10 years in prison and a fine up to $100,000. The court is authorized to increase the fines beyond the maximum to exhaust the proceeds of the crime. Sale or distribution to a minor by a person over the age of 21 doubles the possible penalties.
Delivery of marijuana within 1,000 ft of a school or within 250 ft. of recreational playground is punishable by 2-4 years in prison.
Possession or sale of paraphernalia is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine up to $2,500, unless the sale was to a minor, in which case the possible penalties double.
For first offenders, the court may grant probation without verdict.
Any second or subsequent drug conviction increases the possible penalties to twice those for first time offenders.

I'd be gone for life +, I have a long criminal record, no drug convictions though.

Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana is punishable by ‘up to’ 180 days in jail and ‘up to’ a $2000 fine.
This is for up to 2 ounces.

Yes that is why I just left it at 28 grams.
I could possibly face probation but I have never been in trouble so think that I would get a heavy fine which I belive is $1,000.

Wow 5 years in prison AND a fine 'of up to' $15,000?
Thats quite serious!!!!
Thats quite the gap between amounts!!!

May i ask what country you are from?

It's not actually legal here but I don't know anyone that hasn't gotten off with a warning unless they were caught with a scale...

since 215 went in to effect though I haven't known anyone that has been bothered at all. a lot of people around here have the sheriff come check out their grow to avoid any problems. if they're legal anyways...

Well thats totally laid back. What a difference.
I read or watched an article somewhere that in some plces it is sentenced by death. Now that would really suck.
I'd probably still smoke it.:lol::dunce:

Only 6 votes 67 % would face either jail time or probation. Its no wonder people don't want to talk about it. Thats insane!!! Seriously.

It seems that anything over an ounce is considered dealing so the penalties are greater. But the gaps between are HUGE!!!
So if you had an ounce and a half they would consider you a dealer and you could possibly go to jail.
More than 28 grams is a felony here, looking at jail time and probation for sure.

I have a good friend whose nephew was arrested this summer for 2 joints(fatties). He is 22 years old, when he was 18 he got busted for having seeds and rolling papers in his car. this being his second arrest he got 11 months 29 days and $1500 fine, plus lawyer fees.

thats ridiculous. where i live and most surrounding towns know just how much kids smoke and drink. literally that is what we look forward to doin every chance we can. i live in an upscale town and our education is top 100 public high schools in the nation. i think it is for these reasons why ppl kind of just brush it off, we can do well in school and do drugs lol. cops are nice when it comes to >1/2 usually just let u go and take it. but when u got weight they arent so nice. i guess u could say our town has a substance problem but im assuming everywhere else is like this too? its not really a problem tho everyone just loves it:joint:

All marijuana laws are inherently unfair, as this wondrous herb should be unrestricted and unfettered for ALL of humanity to enjoy!!!
There should be no laws whatsoever!
