OK I have one good idea as too what your probs might me. first lemme say that most your plants don't look unhealthy, just a little spotty, and maybe slighty stretched depending on the genetics. Now in latest pics you posted the last pic of the single plant def has mist on it. and yellow spotting can easily be a direct result of misting plants under a HPS light. I don't even bother to mist my plants, but if you must do it when the lights are off and will be for at least an hour. If water droplets sit on leaves in a HPS room, the light magnafies through the droplet and burns spots in the leaves. I also noticed dry water spots on your mylar,so something def gets sprayed in there.
A question I have is can ya give me more info on the grow. As in soil, nutes, temps, humidity and how far the lights are from plants and how tall the tallest and shortest plats are. Also how much room do you have to lets plants grow/move light. Ill help more after ya post back. Lata

This is my first grow I ordered a 16w LED panel with blue/red mix. I am using Flora Nova Nuttes and soil instead of hydro. Its indoors in a closet and I have little room for excess heat so I decided to go with a LED panel for the lower heat.

I intend on setting up with the LED 12" x 12" panel 1" from the top of the plant with the 2 42w CFL at the top shining down on the plant.

My first grow using Nirvana Bubblicious as my strain.

Generally looking for any advice on the CFL placement and if the idea is solid to use CFL in addition to the LED panel.

Mostly what im wondering is I have seen videos of PURE LED grows vs HID and the results were clearly good in veg but less in flowers and produced less bud then the HPS however more bud per KWH meaning the more LED the more efficient.

I am using far less then required to produce good yield with just LED so my question is by supplementing with 2 42w CFL for the 1 plant I plan to grow will it be enough light to meet/exceed 1- 2 plants needs.

Correction:

Video was of HID vs LED UFO

HID produced 91g at .217g/Kwh
LED produced 36g at .36g/Kwh

So i understand the LED is more efficient but more is needed so what are the requirements for one plant using pure CFL?

First of all blacklight=poison, def dont use them for growing. Second it all depends on the strain, what size you want to let them get and how much space you have. There are hundreds of factors to think about. You could get a nice small indica structured plant that produces good yield and a nice body high, or a sativa that gets huge and gives an amazing head high. There are tons of senarios to do, ya just have to plan according to what ya want and your limits.

First of all if you are a member of grasscity.com, check out my thread there, I have tons of amazing info regarding my LED grows and all the specs on the diff lighting in comparison and used in conjuction as a supplement. In case you cant though (Ill put the link at the end) ill explain what ya should do for your setup. I have had great success using CFL's and LED's,just so ya know I have the 90 watt UFO. I am not tryuing to stick up for LED's but there were many things wrong with the HPS VS LED UFO video you have seen and I go into why in the thread I am going to post. Basically you are going to want to keep the LED panel as you said righ over the plant(s) as close as can be. I dont know about your panel, but my light spreads over the whole area it is supposed to with only being about 2 inch over the center plant. Take the CFL's you have and position them so they light up the sides of the plants and some of the lower branches. If you find temps are great and can add more CFL's you can never have to many(as long as its stays cool enough). How many planst are you doing in what size space??

Heres the link to my UFO/HID/CFL supplemental grow experiments ( You will have to join to view if not a member) http://forum.grasscity.com/advanced-growing-techniques/239854-ufo-hid-grow-testing-led-lighting.html

looking for some idea on how to run one... just got two in that hold 320 per
They look like amazingly cool grow systems, seen them, but haven't done alot of research or ever used one, so can't tell ya alot. What are your main concerns though cause it doesnt look to difficult to run. You can go to the website and check the fact and tips for using the systems they provide, this is it http://www.omegagarden.com/.

i am starting a indoor sytem i am new to this can someone tell me if this light is worth the money or are they ripping people of here is the link

Hydrofarm Xtrasun Valubrite Convertible Indoor Plant Grow Lights at Home Harve

The quality of that light is fine, do the job perfectly, but this site has better prices this is what I use. Instead of having to switch bulbe, they are both in the reflector so you can use both MH & HPS or one at a time. 400 watts each for a total of 800 duel spectrum watts if ya want. Its like 30 $ more than what you asked about. Plus ya can get the light you want cheaper here. Heres the link, I love this place.
Hydroempire, Organic Hydroponic Nutrients, Indoor Grow Lights and Supplies - 800 watt Dual Spectrum System - $479.95

To be honest yes, def get the tempered glass, as it helps contain the heat, and if you plan to set up any kind of exhaust start with the air cooled fitting and a couple in line duct fans which are like 20 bucks a piece and easily added anytime, it brings the heat down quite considerably.Especially if you are going to use both lights simutaneously.

ok theres a bunch of different ways o do this. I personally like to use either jiffy peat pots or a similar medium that is easy for the seed to break through. I dont like using the paper towel method cause I tend to not keep in moistc enough, or too moist. Some like it though. Just get a plate and a few sheets of paper towel. Make towels damp put seeds on top of damp towels then put another layer of damp towels on top. keep moist, dome if ya want to and watch daily for tap root. when seed crack and shows tap root plant in rockwool orwhatever meduim ya want, again peat pellets work well here too. Others get a glass of water and let the seeds sit in there untill they crack and show taproot then plant. As I said I personally like the natural in dirt or a plug method.
