I have a question for my fellow indoor donkey dick, giant bud growin' friends. I know that in this day and age it's not all about the size or beauty of the nugz anymore. Everyone wants to grow for the yield and grow as many nugz as possible. I love giant buds and I'm not going to stop!

I have a question though...has anyone else ever noticed this...

I have found that the key to the giant buds is really in the roots. The larger the root system and obviously the stronger the lights the bigger the buds. So in the interest of this I have found that if I keep my plants pruned really nicely in veg. Not like a bush, a tiny short little bonsai tree that I constantly cut the tops off of to keep it 18" approx. If I keep it to this size and veg it for an extra 3 weeks or so (from the time it orginally hits 18") but keep it to that size when I flower it I get MUCH larger buds. I have attributed this to the increased root system and overall maturity of the plant.

So for example I use a 4x4 space to grow. I fill the space with 8 plants. If I get each plant to 18" and flower them then I get pretty good sized buds, a decent yeild and more of what I would call the "garden variety" grow. If I veg them to 18" and then keep pruning them down to 18" weekly and then flower it after 3-4 extra weeks I can get donky dicks all over!

I noticed this once when flowering out mothers and I was VERY impressed with how well they had done compared to the clones that came from them. Then it hit me, I put them in a bed of hydroton and the root mass was fucking enormous and this apparently was able to feed these bitches and keep growth REALLY vigorous.

So my question to all you donkey dick growers is....Have you found that mothers make big as cola's? I went back on my most recent grow and I flowered clones that I didn't do the extra pruning and growing and sure enough it went back to garden variety buds.

Now granted, I realize that the extra 3-4 weeks of veg time offsets the yield increase, but man it's way more fun to grow giant buds.

LOL only heard the term donkey dick for the first time yesterday,a friend who used to grow was telling me that on one of her last grow she had huge buds and referred to them as donkey dicks, the funny thing is a friend of hers was going around telling people that she was growing Donkey dick and she had people coming up to her looking for a bag of Donkey Dick lol

P.s They are some big buds

HAHA GWN that nug makes that hand look like a doll hand!

laser, pruning is a great way to grow those donkey dicks that we all love! lol its all about makin as many budsites as you can... i bet if you let them get a little taller and veg a little longer you could have a two footer fully erect donkey penis!!!!!

you guys ever encounter mould issues with your "donkey-dicks"
Strict attention to humidity during flower, proper drying & curing. Thats the key.
PS, the hand in the pic is my wifes - I took Grandpa's advice. "Boy, don't marry a woman with big hands, makes your dick look small".

I've never had any troubles with mold, but I know that it makes it a bigger concern. Just have to keep humidity down and keep everything under control. There's just something about big beautiful buds that really makes me happy. Happy to open the tent everyday and see the wonderful goodness inside.

I may try going to 24" this time before flowering. I really want to get some dank ass shit this go around.

Have you guys that get to smoke these wonderful giant buds ever noticed you seem to get way more wasted smoking off the big nugz? I always feel like it's much stronger., but I don't even know if that's really founded.

More potent? Nah, but there is something very special about pulling up a cat-tail length bud to smoke w/ friends. You get everybodys attention !.

I think it may be because the small nugs have a larger surface area to volume ratio compared to the huge nugs and all that surface area on the little guys lets the resin fall off whereas on the big guys there are all those inner-donkey dick buds get surrounded by each other and protect from the elements. yay or nay?

Hey laserbrn, what did you mean by keeping your plant at 18". Im just wondering how the process for that would go. I would like to learn the ways of Giant bud.

I'm going to try this out on my next grow. It's about maintaining one dominant bud on a more mature plant with a large root structure but not a lot of side buds. This FI I'm growing doesn't look to be a "donkey dick" candidate. I just don't think it grows that way.

I'll try to find something that I think has promise and I'll write a little tutorial. It's like topping except normally when you top you are trying to get more tops and I just do it to keep my plant small. Normally it will push out the 2 or 4 growing tips below where you topped, I just cut one of those and keep it dominated by one top.

I haven't tested this against anything, I just came across it by trying it.
