Aussie Growers Thread

I've got 2 in the ground and 3 in pots and they're thriving
Yeah my 6 are still kicking along good
Not much frost damage at all and I thought I'd experiment and not trim any back to over winter
I'm redoing the chilli area doing a greenhouse for them so these ones in the ground I'll be having a go at transplanting them to pots to see if I can keep them going
Plan on having 20-25 chilli plants this summer

This chart will help you translate container sizes for standard clay pots and black nursery pots and give you an approximation of how much soil each will require (again these are dry soil measures):

4 inch pot (10 cm) = 1 pint (0.5L)

5-6 inch pot (13-15 cm) = 1 quart (1L) = 0.03 cu. ft.

7-8 inch pot (18-20 cm) = 1 gallon (4L) = 0.15 cu. ft.

8.5 inch pot (22 cm) = 2 gallon (7.5L) = 0.3 cu. ft.

10 inch pot (25 cm) = 3 gallon (11L) = 0.46 cu. ft.

12 inch pot (30 cm) = 5 gallon (19L) = 0.77 cu. ft.

14 inch pot (36 cm) = 7 gallon (26L) = 1 cu. ft.

16 inch pot (41 cm) = 10 gallon (38L) = 1.5 cu. ft.

18 inch pot (46 cm) = 15 gallon (57L) = 2.3 cu. ft.

24 inch pot (61 cm) = 25 gallon (95L) = 3.8 cu. ft.

30 inch pot (76 cm) = 30 gallon (114L) = 4.6 cu. ft.

Chilli master!

I grabbed a few of these for $12 after looking at the hydro stores around wanting twice the price for something smaller.

65L its very heavy duty with rope handles so easily able to lift them around, just drilled in a couple of dozen holes around the base and edges.

What problems are you having ? I just treated mine the exact same way I did weed, actually probably a little less care even.

No. problems growing the fuckers I get some to 5 foot tall and 3 or 4 yrs out of them.
My only problem being I never seem to get a harvest out of reapers just a nice bush n flowers etc even though they are sitting right next to others that are flowering and getting fruit

Ah ok damn, I hope mine aren't the same :( There is a girl up in the Sunny coast who grows them where I got my seeds from and her stuff puts anything ive grown to shame.

I've had a few drop flowers and start forming but never get over the half way mark before dropping or dying off.
Gonna try a different soil mix with reapers this summer but all my other superhots love the soil they are in
