I thought u said it was a plastic shopping bag..?
The reason it looks Green is because of how much leaf was used in it's production.. Were they even Harvest Leaves, or just spare fan leaf from throughout the grow?
 
I think she meant she had a shopping bag full. Your hash can be green for a few reasons, one being ove agitation of the leaf causing more small leaf bits. It is also more green if you only use a 220 and 25 micron bag, compared to say a 4 or 8 bag kit with a variety of screens resulting in a variety of hash purity levels.

When using bubble bags I've been encouraged to just hand mix with a wooden spoon for 10-15 minutes as even a pant mixer on a drill on super low speed can over agitate apparently? I guess it only matters if you want very pure hash.
 
Yeah wen I 1st started making Hash it was as Green as the Plant itself.. Now I don't use ne fan leaves, just Bud leaf n scummy little buds that I cudn b assed trimming, I get a lovely Golden Hash now every time :lol:
 
bubble bags are mad overpriced. if you feel the need to buy them i have a site somewhere you can get the 4 bag set for 90 euros. i use a lesser known brand and get happy results.

i'm almost positive you can't get smaller than 25

cave - it's really a lot easier and better than iso. you need to get purified butane, or you can use ventti, it's anywhere from 3-6 bucks a can. use a liptons ice tea bottle, the larger ones i've found them to be best.
take your plant matter and chop it up a bit, smaller is better. then almost fill your bottle with plant matter.
then make a small hole in the arse end of the bottle.
cover the head of the bottle with cheese cloth and secure it. then point the head of the bottle downwards, into an old dish with a smooth non porous surface.
apply the nozzle to the ventti that you think is best, and insert it into the hole in the bottle. fill the bottle and let it drip into the dish. depending on how much you put in, you will need a few cans.

after a wee while the ventti will evaporate at air temp and you will be left with hash oil. just make sure you wear gardening gloves when you do it, the bottle gets very cold. and dont be silly and smoke a cig or anything when you do it lol
 
Yeah I know bubble bags are overpriced which is why $300 was way too much, but I didn't know you could use freaking plastic bottles, I thought you needed glass as there was pressure... I'll have to give it a go!
 
I'm using a set of 5 bags I got for $100 online (including postage) they are called Sprung Bags.....and a zip 220 bag from aqua labs for in the machine and a mini washing machine...and yes a shopping bag of harvest leaf and kiff.... "4 PRACTICE"... :roll:
I have another few bags to "PRACTICE" on before my seedy buds are dried and ready to use.... thanks for the advice ,,I need it... I had the cycle on normal for 10 mins.... maybe I just need it on gentle cycle for 1 or 2 mins..?

I have heard that once the Hash is dry,,you jar it up for a month or so and then press it and the colour darkens to blackish....what do yous all think..?
 
I've tried the butane oil a few times ((as in someone else made it and I smoked some))and it always was disappointing...too green and a weird taste ,,,,was it just the maker???
 
I suggest long slow agitation for bubble bags. And seperate the purest hash for a little treat, this will be the hash in the last bag.
 
oh yes its separate... I have 3 grades from the last three bags... thanks,, I'll try it on mellow 2day and see if the colour changes.... the water I was left with was really dark after the full filtration... is that normal ??
 
ah yeah i've seen the aqua labs bags, there was a guy who posted on here about a really cheap set up for hash making. not that aqua labs are cheap lol but it is when you only buy one of their bags.

the first few lots of oil we did with the butane created a nasty sludge lol i just did little bits n bobs, like the first time i used only crap, where as for good oil i use a mix of bud and bud leaves heavy in trichs, with the fan leaves and rubbishy bits. and i freeze it in an airtight bag before i put it in the bottle. that seems to have helped.

personally i wouldnt freeze the plant matter first because it will slowly break down the cell structure as it freezes and the instant freezing action of the butane to make the cells burst is one of the main reasons you use it. i like your ice tea bottle idea though. like i said before i use a pyrex (can handle extreme temp changes way better than glass or plastic) coffee plunger. you just unscrew or cut the knob of the plunger and take it out, fill the jar with your mixture, put the lid on and spray the butane through the hole for the plunger, then take the lid off, put the plunger back in, replace lid, push plunger down and pour out just like a normal coffee. works a treat! you should use the most pure butane you can find (hard to judge i know) and a mixture of kiffer and the resultant oil should have a golden tinge, hence the common name for it of Honey Oil.
 
oh shit i nearlly forgot to tell ya's, I just scored an as new dehumidifier which retails for 640 bucks from a local car boot sale for only 20 bucks!!! SCORE! im so stoked ive been looking for one of these on ebay for a couple of weeks and had resigned myself to having to pay at least a hundred for one. and i talked her down from 25! "doin my happy dance"

just out of curiosity how do you guys control or regulate your humidity and do you even worry about it?
 
I don't use any bags.. Just a bucket.
Search Youtube for a Video called Gumby Hash. Dude makes about 100 grams of Hash. I'll try n find d link.

Yeah gumby has is by far the cheapest easiest and safest way to make hash. Requires a bit of patience however waiting for all the settling blah

When u go to ur Signature Panel there is a little Globe with a Chain Link on it. Once u press it then u type the URL of ur Grow Journal in it.
Once the URL is in the Text Box then u Highlight it with ur mouse and type wat u want ur Signature 2say. The text u type shud be underlined (that will show u that it has worked).
