The tin is only sittin on top of the ground though. The holes i dug where wider then wat the tin is.

As for the elements in the powerfeed i admit im far off understanding the complete chemical side off things all i knew is plants need higher levels of N for Veg and higher levels of P for flowerin evrything else has been a learnin curve..
never use powerfeed on ya weed bro , its tastes like shit for smoke not bad for other stuff tho in your garden just not weed

some seasol, in the beginning is ok but i prefer the taste of weed with some actual grow nutes like cana coco, or vega, at low strengths in a soil or pot grow than powerfeed,

Only used it as money was tight gettin everything together for this years grow.. I plan on using canna pk 13/14 for bloom nutes with some sort of base nute dunno wat yet though. If i drop the powerfeed wen i start bloom nutes reckon that will stop the bud from tastin like crap?

back on the seed sprouting - i never found the plates much good. proper faff to keep paper towels from drying out.

soak 24hrs/at least until it sinks. if it doesn't sink it probably won't germinate.
wet 2 sheets of paper towel
lay seeds out across one half of the paper towel and fold over to cover
get a sandwich bag/sealable food bag, put the folded paper towel in it
nearly close it then breathe into it to inflate, seal it inflated.
leave this somewhere warm like behind the telly or fridge.

that's been my method for ages, tends to do nicely.

Might have to skip the heatmat at night and just leave em next to xbox at night
Just in the cupboard in a dome I wouldn’t put em near any heat. Conditions are pretty good atm to pop seeds, 5 years is pretty old did the seeds drop to the bottom of the cup when you soaked em? It doesn’t really matter but I’m interested to know.

Without wishing to seem like scratched vinyl here......

Moist Swisspers in Asian sauce dishes has worked for me EVERY time. Weed, chillies, tomatoes, pumpkins, melons, anything of any size & ANY AGE (even 25 year-old weed seeds :hump: ):

DSCN2187.JPGDSCN2190.JPG

Dish, MOIST Swissper (not saturated). Seeds. Moist Swissper. Inverted dish on top. Done deal.

The only difference is temperature, which (as has been mentioned) shouldn't be a problem right now. I've successfully done chillies & tomatoes in August with a bit of temp. control (but then, I'm also a homebrewer with access to that kind of stuff). Works every time.

Unless you've been dudded by your seeds source.....?

I'm not huge on powerfeed nowadays but when I've used it all the way into veg outdoor it's had no bearing on the taste whatsoever
The dry and cure overrides anything that that fert has left behind

Cannabis specific nutrients are a sham. Got to love that cannabis tax.

just saying that black stuff is not goin into my lungs
stuff like powerfeed, seasol and trace elements are only sposed to be watered in every two or three months or so not every day as they
are only there to supplement the soil from the extra watering
the nutes be it from a dry powder, ya mix up with water or cana, dutchmaster, or whatever brand, is better than power feed

i just remember a few years back giving a few plants a bit of powerfeed at what i thought was a week strength they grew great and i had heaps of nice looking weed just smoked up the worst i ever grown so i dont touch it now

It wasn’t the powerfeeds fault your weed tasted like crap. There’s literally nothing in powerfeed that would alter the taste and no reason it technically can’t be used the whole way through flower (other than it not being that great a nutrient in general).
