Hey G.O.D, any chance of showing some pikkies of your hempy pots in action?
I havent really looked into it much to comment on it, but it does seem interesting.

I've just moved 4 clones out of small hempy pots into one large (290mm square) pot, topping and trimming as I did so, so at the moment there is little to show off.
The "small hempy pots" are 900ml Treseme shampoo bottles with the top cut off and a hole punched about 3cm up from the bottom.
I use a 3 part perlite to 1 part vermiculite mix in the pots.
Once the clones have settled in to the new pot I will photograph it ... probably just before I fit the SCROG screen.
When I repotted the clones all into the one pot, I raised them up and lay them over ... fanning out from the middle of the pot. Each of the 4 clones has 2 leaders which I topped, now each leader has 4 or 5 small branches developing.
Hopefully they will rapidly fill the space with lots of branches and I'll fit the screen before switching to 12/12.
Laying the clones down when transplanting is like LSTing without actually doing anything to the plants.

I'll see how the crappy GP nutes work out and if I think I need bigger and or better buds then I might try hydro nutes, but if peeps are using Osmocote in hempy pots and getting good results, I think I should be happy with my buds.
I seem to grow for the fun of the hobby rather than to maximise my harvest.
I attached a graft to a plant 2 days ago and it hasn't dies yet - coupla days and I'll see if it has taken, then time to attach more grafts

Here is a pikkie of the plant that I am trying to graft - it's one pheno of Barney's Farm L.S.D. grafted to a totally different pheno of the same strain - 2 seeds, 2 phenos.
It's been 2 days since the graft and the scion seems to be still turgid and healthy so hopefully it will be a success.
The root stock is growing in one of my Tresemme shampoo bottle hempy pots.
Here are the 2 phenos, the first became the root stock and the second donated a scion to the experiment.
Both are growing in hempies and have been topped and defoliated in an attempt to keep them small, otherwise they would be 2 foot tall by now.

Don't get me wrong i see it as a hobby and learning experience too, but if your going to pump out the money and risk for it you want to get max return
(in bud not profit as im no dealer)I want to look at grafts and budding too as i looked into the origin of ABC and its just weed crossed with Jap Hops. I need to see what other plants are in the same family/genus as weed to look at some possible matches. If any of you have passionfruit vine you will know how fast that shit grows and how good its root system is.....maybe a possible candidate? Failing that i was looking at doing one of those grafts that many fruit growers use to get two plants (say apple and orange) onto the same tree.

I certainly don't want to put in maximum effort and get piss poor results, but whatever I can't smoke, eat or drink will be a waste.
When I start having a surplus I will make tinctures for long term storage, capsules of cophabis (like canna butter but using copha), hash, oils and honey.
My main aim is to have a large selection of different strains with different "smokes" that I can mix'n'match - that is the driving force behind making feminised seeds and multi-grafting mother plants.
With grafting, as far as I have read, the plants need to be of the same "family" to be able to graft ... but you never know until you try. It would be great to graft cannabis onto some perennial rootstock with a huge drought resistant root system - grape vine or as you mentioned, passionfruit would be great.
If I can harvest 30g to 40g every 5 to 6 weeks I will be happy ... and I am confident that I will be more than happy when my system is fully tuned and I have the timing right.

Na nothing in the ground mate. Hopely soon. I'm not so keep on seed over the net but it's slowly growing on me more. Realise that the only way to get a good strain. Maybe I'll start making something this weekend. Just need to work out what strains hahah ak for sure everyone seems to have it in there fav smokes.
What are fem seeds like? For the next few months I can only do a
Tiny opp and thinking some fem auto flowing seeds to speed it up to get me some shit. Hopely by the end of the year I have it set up. After reading everything makes the shit I smoke even worse lol

That said i only poped my growing cherry a year ago so only JUST starting for the more exotic ways now
um what ever you do do not use bunnings nutes or general purpose nutes with coco if you go coco (i use coco and it rocks) still only use basic nutes but make sure they are nutes made for coco or you will run into cal/mag probs as well as other problems

fem seeds rock for small grows im not a big fan on auto crops in aus (i do have a 60dw going outside at moment) due to the fact that you only get around a ounce or 2 off autos which means if ya want a decent amount you have to grow out several plants where as i figure u can get 1 or 2 fem plants to produce the same amount or more but if you get caught you only get done for 1 or 2 plants not lots
but on the other side if you just want to get your feet wet autos are simple to grow as you can pretty much plant em and leave em but i think if you really want to learn how to grow you should start with norm or fem seeds but that is just my opinion and you need to do what you feel comfortable with
check out my grow man the link is in my sig it was a 1 plant cupboard grow in coco with just a&b coco nutes and a 400w light yielded 8.5 ounces of dried cured manicured bud
pretty much takes care of its self as its on a recycling feed system just goto check ph feed readings and water on a regular basis

I've personally grown autoflowers before and i prefer photoperiod plants anyday, if you had to pick one id go with a photoperiod strain, and if you still want you can go 12/12 from seed for a smaller plant, quicker harvest and lower yield, just like autos
you control how long they veg and plus you got alot more superior strains to pick from,
also you cant clone autoflowers so that means more online seed shopping after harvest lol

hey god , the book i have infront of me from Ed rosanthel says it pointless to graft weed ...but then again it was written in the 80's and then refurbished in the late 90's so who knows..
im also interested as in why u joined 2 of the same strain together ?i know they were pheones but still , all cannabis is in the Cannabaceae family. i like your hempy method 2.i think im going to transplant some now into some hempys outdoors.

hey god also can u tell me , ive got a plant from my dwc i want to put in a hempy. would i have any problems putting the plant in with a cube of rockwool on it? do u think i could overwater it or something? cos i cant cut the net pot off but for obvious reasons i cant get the rockwool cube off lol.

In the 80's indoor growing wasn't very common, grafting for outdoor growing would really be pointless.
Grafting to have multi-strain (or even multi-pheno) mothers that will be kept alive for a long time is something that Ed wouldn't have even considered possible in the 80's.
Grafting the 2 phenos together is just the start. I don't have the room to SCROG both phenos at the moment so I will prepare one pheno to be SCROGed and keep the other pheno for later - and I was just playing around to see if grafting would work.
I have planted both seedlings and clones that were growing in Jiffy pellets into hempy pots, pellets still attached. I can't see why you would have a problem with the rockwook in hempy - the roots will soon find their way through the hempy pot to the reservoir at the bottom.
