fiwh, for someone who hasnt used coco before, i wouldnt suggest hand watering or going straight coco, id do a 50/50 coco/perlite mix and do top feed to waste, you will get the best results this way. Coco itself holds alot of water, so its very very easy to over water, the surface of the coco looks dry but an inch down is saturated, you then flood it again and push all the oxygen out, the plant needs a perfect balance to uptake the nutes so the plants feeding window is dramatically cut down as the oxygen has to balance again as youve just flooded it, doing this repeatedly puts stress on your girl. Using the mix allows for more run off, so over watering is minimized. just my 2 cents worth for you.
Supa, as for your 50/50 and 90/10 comparison, its difficult to compare because its all dependant upon line prime times, feed pressure, how much it dumps in a given period, it varies alot, i irrigate with low feeds, i m irrigating for 12 secs every 3 hours, i have done the tests and know that in 12 secs it dumps 500ml per pot, there isnt alot of run off which means the plants are uptaking the 500ml.
