speculation ninj? lol the idea briefly crossed my mind and i quickly threw it in the 'none of my business' basket lol

it's happened again, i got a roast yesterday and today is sunny and warm! happened last week too, the one day i cook a roast is the one warm one of the raining shitty cold week lol

i've put the clone into flower, such a stubby pheno, i'm used to the towering sativas but this one is very stocky and stanky

i have the house to myself and it's SO quiet!! i better get used to this lol they're out on a train adventure to get mothers day presents

Sorry to trouble you guys and gals again.

Just wondering what you think of this:

http://www.aussieponics.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=57

Seems a lil cheap in comparison to what other products i have seen. From that kit would i need to buy anything else?

Also i hear that MH are MUCH better for the growing cycle. From your opinion can you use a HPS for the entire cycle without running into any problems?

EDIT:

Just saw this aswell. For the same price, with significant power saving what is the consensus on LED?

I veg under a metal halide, I wouldn't have it any other way... I use a HPS, for flowering... I find I get better results....

I used scrapings from the bottom of my grinder when I ran out last year.
Kept me nicely baked for a month. :)

MH for veg and HPS for flower. If you are looking for cheap light use Powerplant at discount hydro. I think the 400 is around 40 bucks. I use powerplant 600w and has worked out really nice for me. I also think just starting out dont go with LED's just yet. Also if you only want to by one right now just get a HPS and use for veg and flower.

Thanks for the replies lacey and n1.

I would love to have the cash to invest in both MH and HPS but just getting ONE will be a stretch for my budget :P I know you guys posted some stuff on interchangeable ballast in some earlier posts (ie. actually designed for HPS and MH and not just some experimental mumbo jumbo) and kinda interested in that idea. (get the ballast and a MH then by the time my babies ready for flower im sure i can muster up the cash for a HPS). From the discount site i couldnt seem to find such an item, so wondering if you could point me in the right direction there?

N1, the light itself is no isse. $40-80 for a light is no problem as such...its finding a decent price for the WHOLE kit (ie. reflector, socket, ballast, light) As i mentioned above if its possible i wouldnt mind going for dual purpose ballast if they exist.

skiz u from melbourne ? i got mine from chadstone hydroponic store 250 hps/mh ballast +globe + reflector 160
Na Sydney folk here :P

That price seems pretty decent. I think as a base line i would go for 400watt though?..it seems to be the norm from every thread ive read.

@Rusty: you guys sure do love that site dont you :P That conversion bulb looks like it might be a winner though....although seems very cheap in comparison so makes me wonder if its a "too good to be true" deal. Either way looks like im up for ~$160 for a setup which should be doable in the next few weeks just in time for my clones i got going now (2x 4 foot 36watt grow lights).

Should everything turn to shit, how long can you grow under flueros for without affecting the plants to much?

Thanks for all the help with everything, and in particular the patience :)

You can keep them vegging under fluorescents for years dude.

People still manage to flower with less wattage than you dude. You are already doing better than most "PC case" growers.
