so i saw this video and was wondering if all the things mentioned in this video are really true and cause for concern in my country? all the increase in crime and home invasions after the ban? i as an american am very concerned about my second amendment right to bear arms. im in fear that if gun control laws and bans continue to escalate i will continue to lose more and more of my freedom not to mention also risk me and my families safety. so i ask what are your thoughts and opinions preferably from Aussies if possible.

FIGHT THE POWER!!!

haha its funny people think gun laws will change deaths and shit.

CRIMINALS dont obey the laws so no matter what law you put into place that criminal will still be able to get it.

Hell you can stock up on shotgun shells now and go to home depot and make yourself a $20 shotgun out of a few pipes and a spring. haha.

Gun laws are like prohibition of marijuana laws and all laws for that matter.

No matter what the law is, people are going to do whatever they want.

Also the increase in home invasions was probably due to the criminals still having weapons and knowing no one else does to defend themselves...

Well, all you have to do is disagree or even seem like it and the neo-Left sees you as a dirtbag. Anyone with a counter opinion should be slain. Not entitled to life. (my first anonymous death threat)

The 2nd Amendment gives you the power to defend your other rights - I won't give up any of my weaponry, for any reason.

At the point / if guns try to get taken.. many will build devices on a much bigger caliber of destruction (pun intended)

I am not convinced of that. Look at the rest of the developed world where serious gun restrictions have been passed in our lifetimes. I did not notice an upsurge in destructive device construction/use. cn

Spain has some of the most byzantine gun laws for a "civilized" nation. It also has one of the highest zipgun crimes.

Zip guns don't qualify as the sort of weapon or device that Figong meant ... i think. I read his post as implying bombs, mines, improvised mortars. cn

Between a tractor supply and a hydro shop.. you can make semtex in 30 minutes, which is more powerful than C-4 per volume. That said, we've had quite a few in Michigan that are prone to building such devices, to protect themselves (quite a few are Michigan militia) some are Vietnam vets that have severe PTSD since the gov't fucked them over on treatment, and others are just terrorists, like Tim McVeigh. My point was that the difference in what's used to 'survive' (something that has triggered fight/flight as part of a fear-based response, even if the fear could be considered 'unreasonable') depends on if you're running for your food, or running for your life.. figuratively. (Aggressor vs Target)

Semtex uses RDX (cyclonite, hexogen) as its energetic component as does C4 (Semtex admixes some pentolite, perhaps to make it easier to detonate). The best you could make using your simple sources is good ol' Ann Foe. Detonating that requires a good-sized base charge (initiator) made of the more controlled high explosives. cn

No easier to detonate, as it's still a plastic explosive.. and some don't like the stability of C4 as it is, and use PDX, which contains a plastic binder to keep it a bit more stable yet still malleable. I didn't literally mean make C4, but there are plenty of other things that could be made with those 2 locations I'd named that would be pretty nasty if whipped up. As for C4.. I wouldn't say good-sized base charge either - you can use blasting caps, or if you're disposing of the C4 you can use M112 demo charges alternatively.

C4 will respond to a blasting cap, but Ann Foe won't. C4 has been compounded so as not to detonate with a gunshot. Since Semtex contains pentolite (the ingredient in Primacord and quite shock-sensitive) I'd expect it to be easier to detonate. (I'd expect a narrower minimum propagation column as well.) My "need a base charge" comment was for Ann Foe. cn

Gotcha, was thinking you'd tied the base charge to C4.. which if directed blast might be as effective, assuming blasting caps couldn't be obtained.. all things the same. Agreed, given the nature of pentolite, I would also expect it to be somewhat easier to detonate.. but not to a point that it's unstable like you're running around with tnt sticks that are oozing nitro.
