I donno man. I for the longest time used exclusively euro genetics. I just didn’t believe in US genetics. Figured the original is best. I actually got tired of how lackluster the genetics were. Not bad...but always just ok. I believe Dutch passion was the last euro pack I popped. In any event I figured I would give a US breeder a shot about 5 years or so I haven’t looked back. I just think they lost a ton of their original genetics through raids and stuff and they just haven’t really kept up with the US stuff. Plus a ton started outsourcing seed production...maybe it’s changed recently but I haven’t seen anything that makes Me want to try any of it. That being said I guarantee that there has got to be decent offerings. But it’s crazy how good even the “pollen chucker” stuff is so why bother.
That's the thing. Anyone can chuck pollen. I have some stuff I've made that is pretty damn good.

I'm not saying that US weed isn't good. Quite the contrary. Most stuff is good but so is the stuff from European breeders.

What I have a problem with are the guys calling themselves XYZ Genetics that are just crossing existing polyhybrids, setting up an instagram account, and then setting up accounts on all the cannabis forums and their first post is, "Has anyone tried XYZ Genetics XYZ strain, blah blah blah.". $20 a seed? I think not. I'm doing more breeding than many of these outfits. I currently have F5 seeds ripening from a cross I've been working on for over 2 years. It's already pretty stable with little variation between plants but I'm taking it out to F7. It will be an IBL at that point. These strains where people are talking about 6 - 10 different pheno's is what I'm referring to when I say pollen chucked. It's not breeding it's just making seeds.

Maybe being just a tester for seed chuckers on IG is worth it? Just to grow out their genetics and provide a test report for free... i mean considering the overall cost of running the op... lol

What’s in a name? People can call themselves whatever they want. “Breeder” with ok results or “chucker” with great results. And I consider great results no hermi and well tested in addition to plant results...I’m not paying for something to test it.

I personally like bodhi, dynasty and useful. Greenpoint is crazy chucker like...not even testing and I hate their business practices but I can’t argue with their results (I won’t buy them again on principal). You have to sift through the thread to find the really good stuff.

It’s just been my experience that I’ve had way better results with us stuff. YMMV.

I’m sorry I derailed the thread.

On my first grow I had a fem vegging for 3.5 months. A monster. One morning all the plant had pollen shacks. Spent lots of hour removing them 1 by 1. These shits where growing inside bud sites. And the yield was a disaster.

A Dutch Passion 1.5+ foot cola. And these results with light feeding
2ml sensi bloom A/B
1ml carboload
1ml overdrive
Love Dutch Passion
I've grown their Skunk #1 and it was some damn good weed. Good yield and excellent smoke all around.

I've also grown their Frisian Duck and wasn't impressed but that's more of a novelty because of the webbed leaves and not really known for being fire to begin with. I grew it with the plan on making crosses so I reversed a female and pollinated several other strains. I haven't bothered to grow any of those crosses to see if the unique leaf structure was passed on to any. It just wasn't that great of weed and they don't claim it to be.

I'm a tester for myself. I've got around 30 crosses I've made which reminds me that I need to finish a spreadsheet I started as I have more to add to my list. I haven't done a grow without making seeds in years.

I have nothing but respect for the pioneers in the US cannabis scene. Back when getting caught could mean a lengthy prison sentence and still does in some states. I have not much respect for many of the newer players out there. Their drama, campaigns to disparage the competition, etc... I don't follow them on instagram and I don't need their seeds. There's many growers like me. Once we have our initial genetics we don't need to buy seeds again. We just make our own.

That I totally agree with. Lots of toxic behavior. I do love the hunt for something unique though.

My dream is home on a mountain with exterior heating pool in a 10acre plot, 800-1000 m above sea with sea view. Closest neighbour in 25miles. Then I make these breeders look like kids
