Autoflower Grow Super Cali Haze from Short Stuff pics

I'm growing a super cali haze at the moment. Side by side with a Himalyan Blue Diesel. IMO, the SCH isn't great. Its very tall. One cola. The buds are taking FOREVER to mature. The HBD which I started at the same time is about 1/4 the size in height, much fatter and denser buds, and about another week to finish. As for the super cali haze, it is an auto no doubt, but I think it is like most sativas in that its very tall and takes quite a long time to finish. It seems it would be great for outdoors, but I wont be growing it indoors any time in the future. Didn't hurt it try it out, and I haven't sampled the smoke yet, so who knows, maybe it will be worth the wait and inconvenience of having to adjust lights etc to accommodate. My quick summary, if you can grow outdoors, then thats the way to go. If space and a quick finishing time are part of your objective, then I wouldn't bother with this strain.

The HBD on the other hand, seems to be absolutely perfect for indoors grows and those seeking shorter to average finishing times.

Good to hear that yours is a true autoflower. What day are you at? what light are you using? do u have a journal? would love to see pics.

Heres an update with pics on my Super Cali Haze. The 4 in the pots are about 2 weeks old (10days in the pots) (its just pics of the largest one and the smallest one up close). The 4 in the seedling dome are also SCH but they just sprouted and will go in the dirt tomorrow when i get home from work. Other then that... my ONYX seeds came today and are finally germinating! Thoes 2 will be going into 5gallon buckets so i can get as much out of them as possible. Keep looking back for up dates. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think. Just sitting at work right now, nice and medicated thinking about the girls and how great its going to be to have ten going at the same time legally! I really hope that these 8 Super Cali Haze are true autoflowering. Im hearing mix messages about this strain and can not wait to find out for my self. As for the Onyx, i cant wait to watch that grow! ive heard nothing but great things about it and hopefully putting it into a 5gal bucket it will pay off with a larger plant. My 600watt HPS is doing wonders in the grow room right now. I dont have to exaust the heat because its winter here so its keeping the room at a perfect 80deg. Every morning i wake up i cant believe how much they grow under this HID. I loved my LED for the price to run it but this is going to be so much better with an HPS. Right now the girls are on 24hrs of light and seem to be loving it. Ive never seen such large first leaves on a plant, and the stalk is already pretty thick. Small lower branches are already forming and it looks great. No nutes so far, just water. This shit is going to taste like the earth when i harvest it. Looking to be done late March if all goes well with this 120day Super Auto and earlier for the Onyx. It will be a great "homegrown 420". Again.... anyone with pics out there of Onyx or SCH, please post.

Here are some new pics. I cant believe how much these 4 have grown over the past week! they all are showing their two white pistils under 24hrs of light and are growing faster then anything ive seen before. I got the Onyx in soil and waiting to go under the light. I do need some help though!! 4 of my baby supercali haze plants wont grow any bigger then the seedlings... i have no idea whats going on with them. they have plenty of water and light but no growth in like a week. The others took right off. Well here are the pics

no one can help me out with my seedling problem?? the Onyx is gunna pass the 4 baby SCH by tomorrow and they have been in the soil for over a week! i dont know what would stunt their growth like this. The 4 in the pics are amazing but the 4 babies are "stuck" at seedling. The first pic on the post above this is what im talking about.
Another problem that i might have is a hermie! the biggest and best looking one might have grown a couple balls along with the white hairs. I will post pics soon of this problem.

please help....

heres another update... Still wondering whats going on with the 4 SCH seedlings, they grew a little since last pics but not what they should have. The pic of the one seedling with a 3leaf is the SCH and the other one is the Onyx(middle pic). Another Onyx is on its way, it just needs to break the soil.
The one pic is what im worried about with a hermie. They dont seem to be male sacs because there are only one or 2 of them on 2 plants. The other pics are just up close shots of the tops. I dont think they are budding yet, that would be really really early.

These are some more pics. Thats the whole set up (4 bigger Super Cali Haze, 4 baby SCH, and the one in the middle is an Onyx seedling. The other pic is an upclose shot of the Super Cali haze at about 20-25 days old.

Hope that SCH does better for you then mine. I had to kill it last weekend, got infested with mites, made me a shit ton of problems lol. Youll love the onyx, great smoke, And don't be worried if it grows a little slow and weird at first mine almost topped its self it seemed like. Cant wait for the next update, the autos are so fun to watch grow, every day there is so much difference from the day before. Keep up the good growin!

Edit: PS i have some pics of the onyx if ya wanted to see, im at work right now but let me know and i shoot some to ya when i get home. Haha just realized i probably spend more time on RIU at work then i do at home

ahh that sucks about your SCH. I would love to hear a smoke report on it. I feel like im the only one growing it haha. It seems to be loving everything right now, and yeah they are so different every time i look at them. It looks like a couple already want to start budding, but i dont know with the Autos. As of right now just 4 are Med size and the others are babies. Im killing two of the SCH babies today because they look like they are about to die. So i replaced them with a Bubba Kush and God's Bud clones from the club. They will just get huge and then i will switch to 12/12 after the SCH and Onyx are done so i will have back to back harvest.
Will post more pics of the SCH and the new Bubba Kush and God's Bud later.

Update ------

4 Super Cali Haze - Just about 30 days old
4 Baby Super Cali Haze - 14 days old
2 Onyx - 1, 6days old and the other 1day old
1 Bubba Kush Clone
1 Gods Bud Clone - DWC with FoxFarm Grow Big

So the 4 SCH thats are just about 30days old are looking great. One of thoes 4 is budding very early (it is way ahead of the others) See pics below
The other 4 SCH babies are starting to come around and show some progress
The 1 Onyx that is in the 5gal bucket is looking good and is starting to get some bigger leaves as well and then the 2nd Onyx is just a day old out of the soil
Bubba Kush is just in a large GroDan cube and not planted in anything right now
Gods Bud is in a 5gal DWC set up looking great as well

are those plants covered in powdery mildew? hard to tell but it looks like they have tons of white dust on them.. or maybe i'm just high and they are trichomes :weed:

yeah my first 215 did but i cut thoes down over a month ago. The LED light didnt give off any heat and when winter hit out here it got cold so i got a PM problem. Now i got a 600watt hps and its keeping the grow room at a nice 79deg. Everything is looking great this time around. No signs of anything bad

Had to chop one of the larger Super Cali Haze down today. Woke up and noticed that it had grown a lot of balls. Thats what i was worried about with that one. It hermied on me. Sucks, but if it didnt go the whole grow would be fucked. Im not looking to harvest seeds. As for everything else, its all looking good. Gave everything a good watering today and they are soaking it up. No nutes or anything so far. I know my girlfriend got me some guano tea for x-mas so i cant wait to use that next week. The one Onyx in the 5gal bucket is going to take off in the next day or so, the first couple sets of leaves are pretty large now.
I do need to fix one thing in the grow and i need some help on how to do so.... I have the Gods Bud clone (future mother plant) in a 5gal DWC bucket and the roots are starting to come out of the net pot but the water in the bucket gets warm in 24hrs from a new change. My air pump is in my grow room and i know thats the problem (pumping hot air into the bucket), but unless i want to run 2, 12ft air lines and have a pump running in my hallway i dont want to move it. I need to figure out how to keep my mother plants reservoir cool. I havent seen any small "a/c pumps" for a single 5gal bucket, just for huge systems. Anyone know of anything??

sorry to hear about the hermie problem. i had the same problem with my super autos, both nirva sky & annapurna hermied and the only fem number 1 that survived germination was a male.

yeah it sucked to cut down a nice looking plant, but it saved all the others. I would never grow "super autos" again if that happened to me. Everything else looks great. The 3 larger Super Cali Haze plants look like they are heading into full bloom already, which is weird because they are a 120day autoflower. But once again, everyone that has seem to grow this strain has a completely different outcome. If you ask me it seems that this "Super Auto" isnt quite stable and gives different results with every seed. I now have 7 of 10 growing and of thoes 7, 3 are beautiful and the other 4 are taking a month just to grow the first 4 sets of leaves. But we will see how they turn out. Will post pics after football today. Go G-Men!

My Super Cali Haze ended up hermieing too, Harvested it at 80 days from seed and it was some pretty good smoke, Defiently no where near 100% sativa is the buzz aspect but it grew like one. The sch ended up pollinating my Pure Power Plants some buit Im kinda excited to see how that cross went.

Overall it was a big plant, it cropped out at about 32 grams at dry 80-85 from seed and same a fairly potent unique smoke. I found it to be very relaxing yet uplifting, nice strain except it seems that everyone is haveing problems with it Hermies. Mine was hard to spot just a banana or two tucked away in the buds.

Heres the new up dated pics...
I looked at the calender, well i looked over my journal haha and figured...
-3 mature SCH are 35days old today. Looking at them in the pics i would not believe it if i didnt see it. Thoes 3 are big for that age!
-The other 4 SCH in the pics are 22days old and according to my pics of the other 3 when they were 22days old, these 4 are really slow, but they are looking ok
- The one larger Onyx (in the 5gal) showed sex about 2 days ago at less then 2 weeks old! and the other Onyx is still in a cup at 8 days old and still a little behind.
- The 2 other small plants in the pics (Bunana Kush and Gods Bud) are now in their own thread so there will be no more on them here. Check out my other one
I am noticing one problem with one of the mature SCH, you can see in the pics below that the one looks like it got leaf burn. But its the shortest one of the three and no others show this discoloration and drying of leaves. Its got nothing but water so far so i dont know whats going on with it. Let me know what you think...

So i topped one of the smaller SCH because it shot up pretty tall today so i figured id see if it will work with these super autos and grow differently then the others. Will post pics next time. I also got an early X-Mas gift from my girlfriend, Light Hangers! Not the yo-yo's because the hydro shop told her that they have been getting a lot of returns with them because they were dropping lights on peoples plants!! Cant have that, so she got me the heavy duty industrial ProGrip light hangers and they work great! Raised the light about 6" and the plants are loving it. Should be getting more growing gifts tomorrow! will post pics of everything when i can. Merry Christmas to everyone on Rollitup!
