Used it from the get go with both my indoor and outdoor grows. Never had a problem.
I use Happy Frog soil as well.

You'll be fine with your original mix of Happy Frog. I would add equal parts perlite. Light, airy, fluffy well draining mix. Moist not saturated.
One more thing @Herb potman. No domes. Domes are for clones, you risk your seed/seedling damping off. Taproot has to breathe.

5'x5' that I just set up. Took the four plants from the 2.6'x2.6' veg tent and tried to spread them out as best I could. I needed to keep the flood table setup for the pots for ease of watering so I was limited to pulling the outside branches out to the sides. Been working out well for what it is.

nice man well like I said you can get better and will with time and experience but it’s a plant and a damn easy one to grow good just gotta not over care for them
See that’s a big problem with riu everyone attacks posts you came at me with the whole have pics and did you ever transplant an auto stuff lol. Not that I care about that. Since I have vast knowledge in plants in general not just this one and I have pics. Point is people here will argue over anything. And I’ll stand by my statement autos should only be grown outdoors for early harvests

Through out whole 5 gallon pot use 50/50 perlite to soil. I heard only 25 %. Or do u mean just to my top layer of happy frog. Go 50/50

My rule of thumb is no less than a third, no more than half. I like plenty of air pockets in my medium. Compaction only creates problems.
Keep containers elevated and provide air circulation.

I was going to go top 40% happy frog and bottom 60 % FFOF. Mixed with about 1/3 perlite. Is that ok for autos u think. And do I have to wash perlite. Any tips on that

That will work good yes. You should poke a few holes in the bag of perlite and a hole in the top and rinse it well before you use it. This is only because it is pretty bad for your health to breath in the dust if it becomes airborne. That being said I have mixed literally tons of soil without rinsing with no ill effects to date.

I will be buying a large bag a large perlite. And then not using some of it now. Can I rinse it separately and if so how ?

You can use a bucket with water. The perlite will stay on top of the water. Stir it up, and you can remove it with a strainer. Set aside in another bucket or container. Makes quite the mess. Would recommend outside washing if possible.

Like I said man I don’t rinse it so maybe someone else can help you just use it if your worried about the dust wear a Mask you probably have a few laying around anyway

So just stir in one bucket of tap water then take out with strainer and put in another bucket to dry out ? How long to dry out ? Or can I mix wet perlite with fox farm soil when still wet ?

I started my Autos in Jiffys, once the leaves have popped up I put the Jiffy straight in a 2 Imperial Gallon pot with a dash of Mycorrhizal Fungi a the bottom of the hole so the roots make direct contact with it when they break out of the jiffy. This is not really transplanting.
Transplanting is where you take an established plant, take it out of the container it is in and put it in a bigger container. This will expose the root ball to light and air, which is a potential cause of stress. Using a Jiffy plug the plant won't even know anything has changed. I transplant my Photos three during veg, this is to ensure a constant sources of fresh nutrients in my medium. I don't do this with Autos as they aren't in the medium for long enough for it to be an issue.

I agree this is not transplanting but far to often new grower leave the jiffy in the starter tray until roots are growing out of the jiffy and at that point it’s a transplant
