B+ Grow

Nope.... that's the blueing from a spot where I recently picked off a shroom. I know it might look greenish blue but the cake is fine and was just dunked for 24 hours and will be sprouting pins in no time.........

Its gotta be the same purpose as the perlite id imagine. Really crazy he dont have a piece of of foil down under them tho!!

The base medium doesn't have to absorb water at all. It's only about adding humidity in the container and as long as the cakes aren't sitting in water, moisture remains high. There may be a little water under the styrofoam and moisture is beading up on the sides of the container. Bottom line- it worked, they are fruiting with good results and I didn't have to buy any perlite.... so don't knock it if you haven't tried it.

Dude that guy will bash the pf tek to the ends of the earth, even knocked a completely maintenance free fruiting chamber tek that I used with great results that required nothing but pint mason jar and a hole punch. Yield was down a tad, but I never had to mist, ever. Been frying balls all year off one grow and I didn't put any time into it, just waited.

But the dude does know more about mycology than most guys for sure so I can respect that......I can see his point from his view though. He seems to grow alot of different mushies all the time and in bulk, so for his type of production I agree, the pf tek is crap. But for 95% of the dudes that want to grow a few personal shrooms and have a shit load for themselves and a couple friends for a good year or two, a single syringe and the pf tek is so fail proof that I see no reason (aside from a hobby venture) to learn anymore or work any harder when the end result is just to trip balls. Couple businesses get paid 40-50 bucks for all your supplies, and you get to trip balls on some home grown.
