Base soil for SubCool super soil

I can't find the base soil that SubCool says to use in his Super Soil mix. One was Roots Organic, the other Harvest Moon. Anyone have a good quality organic alternative that is easy to find here in Sacramento, CA?

Maybe Fox Farm Light Warrior or pro mix. you could probably even use Miracle grow organic choice, the organic MG isn't really the nightmare there other products are.

yeah the mgoc is pretty good. just be careful adding nitrogen to it if you want to take clones... driving me nuts, lol... 2 weeks no roots...
i have also learned it works best if you mix it pearlite or are constantly transplating, because the stuff really like to compact after a month or so in a pot.
but i use it all the time with minimal nutes and get decent results.

yeah a 8qt bag of MGOC is like 5$. Its doing fine for my grows just make sure you add some perlite and some lime, or wood ash. 2 1/2 cups of perlite to one 8qt bad should do, and a 4lb bag or perlite is about 5$ also. but i do believe subs super soil has perlite in the recipe.

Anyone familiar with the EB Stone line of organics or Edna's Best organic soil? It looks like it might make a good Base Soil to use with Subcool's Super Soil.

Subcool's super soil starts off with a base of Miracle Grow *Organic Growers Choice*. Yeah I know it's scary starting off with a MG product this this isn't the shit dirt that their regular stuff is; this is great stuff. I have grown off a couple of soil grows with his mix and it is awesome.

Do you guys have an ingredient list of the MG?? every MG I have ever used has grown terrible crappy tasting weed.. I know for a fact you can get roots organic in SAC, call around to a few of the hyrdo shops.. should not be too hard to find...roots is fully amended base soil that has bat guano, kelp meal, premium earth worm castings, fish bone meal, feather meal, green sand, mycorrihzae, glacial rock dust, soybean meal, humic acid. doubt MG has much of the above...

Anybody in Cali should not even consider MG since you can get Fox Farms products dirt cheap. I've seen Happy Frog there for $11; here back east it's $22 and you have to drive two hours to get it.

I use Down to Earth for my base soil and love it. I have to pay $19 per bag and it is worth it. It is way better than Ocean forest I did a side by side test and Down to earth blew doors. Aloha
