hopefully im all set now for a few grows, i have pretty much everything one would need to do this with good sucess. hopefully tomorow my beans are shipped and the rest of my stuff i ordered, also hoping the worm guy gets my order out tomorow. i really want to get some nice rich compost/worm castings to start off this next grow in. got my PH meter so i can make sure the PH of my medium is perfect before i start and i should have a good deal of sucess.

everyone always tells you that with soil grows PH isnt important but i will recommend EVERYONE that grows in soil to get thier soil tested and properlly PHed BEFORE they start thier grow. it is easy and cheap to do and can save you a huge headache in the long run.

also looking foward to being able to grow in 5 gal buckets once my tent gets here should be able to fit 6 5 gal buckets in it fairly easily.

Looking forward to seeing it! You going to run a SCRoG ?

i think im going to take my carbon scrubber off to allow more airflow through my cab, also going to replace the 9v converter i am using with a 12v one i found as my fans are rated for 12v i think i will be able to move more air this way, the cab is getting to about 90 while it is on and i dont think its doing my plants any justice.

it looked pretty in the picture LOL. if anything it will have great bag appeal and make some $$ even tho i am not in this for profit i do plant on returning my investment.

to be honest im not even sure what im going to grow first, i will have about 12 different strains. but i do know it will either be the blue cheese or the frisan dew as i will have 5 of each and it leaves more room for error without losing a strain. maybe just start them both and then throw the others in the mix when i feel confortable. i really just need to balance my PH and temps/humidity and i should be all set for a really great grow, those 2 enviormental factors seem to be whats holding this grow up.

all my clones have new growth, not bad 8/8 rooted hopefully they catch up fast but when i get my other tent my current cab is going back to 18/6 and the new tent will got 12/12 and the budding plants i have now will go under the HID lamp.

been a few days since i put some pics up so here ya go :)

My clones all have new growth. when i took the cuttings i trimmed the tips off all leaves so any full leaf is new growth after i cut them.

Shit is coming together well!

From what I heard about computer fans you are better off matching the milliamp of the converter to the fan than matching the voltage - of course its best to match both. For instance if your fan is 900 mA and 12v a 900mA 9v converter will power it better than a 500mA 12v converter. Of course this is just what I heard from the local electrical nerd at my local electrical store - he could have been talking out of his ass and I wouldn't have known better - I want to say he told me that the mA are more responsible for the speed of the fan and the voltage is more responsible for drag on the fan - since there is little resistance on the computer fan and air movement is a function of speed you're better off with the higher mA?

thanks ill keep that in mind :) i was actually wondering that, was also wondering if the same adapter will power multiple fans equally?

say will the same adapter power 3 fans just the same as it would power 1 or does it lose power with each additional fan plugged in?

hehe, that is a bit over my head. This is what I want to say - if your fan is 500mA 12v than to power three fans equally off the same converter you would want a 1500mA 12v converter - you add the mA but you want to keep the v constant. Might call radio shack or you local equivalent and ask but I want to say that is what my local guy told me. Could always just hook em all up to the 500mA 12v and see how they run, it isn't going to burn em out.

V = force of the electrical flow. A = amount of electrons passing a point in a given time. So I assume you want to keep the force the same for all the fans but you need three times the amount of electrons as you have 3 times the fans.

This is all me talking out of my ass so don't listen to it all that much.

haha ok ill call radio shack, my bro told me they will all run the same but i got that feeliong when talking to him he wasnt exactly sure. he did just take a electrical current theory class in college but the amount of head scrathing and ummmmmmm's i got when he was answering my question leads me to believe he was not 100% sure HAHA!! :)

thanks for the input either way... ill let you know the outcome of my research :)

Could always find someone with an old trashed computer and tear the power supply out. Can run a shit ton of fans off 1 power supply.

Really curious as to what you find out.

ok so i researched a bit and decided to just do my own experiment. got the alligator clips out (yes they are usefull for other things besides :joint: )

anyways hooked 1 fan up and then put it up to my ear and had someone hook up the other and listened for the one fan to slow down and it didnt seem to, not that this is relavant and is actually correct but by simple testing my Hypothesis is that the adapter provides the rated power to all devices. if i had more fans i would hook up like 20 and see what happened. anyways going to call radio shack and see what they say just for shits and giggles

lol i have a brand new power supply sitting on the floor in corner of my room, only problem is someone took the dam fan out to setup a DIY carbon filter hehe

i run 4 80mm fans off a computer power supply i got off ebay for $12. its real easy to make it work. you just cut the green wire coming from the unit and hook it to a black wire from the the other side of the 24 pin plug, this gives the unit consant power, mine runs 24 7 and has lasted like 5 grows now.
