I think there should be exceptions made. If a load needs to be somewhere by a certain day or an entire plant will have to work on a saturday, let the driver drive an extra hour once a week.
The rules are in place because owner/operators were driving 40 hrs straight hopped up on speed. Something had to be done, but now we've left no wiggle room and treat these guys like criminals if they work a 12 hr day. I don't know a doctor who doesn't work that many hours. Why do we trust a surgeon to work 16 hrs straight but not somebody just sitting and driving?
I'd hate to be a truck driver today. Not only are they dealing with idiots in cars all day, but you are watched more than just about any other industry. Imagine any other job not allowing overtime, or not letting you drive the last 60 miles home because the law says you have too many hours in this week and have to park for X amount before you can drive again. I'm sure most drivers not equipped with electric logs just break that law and drive another hour to get home. They could get in a lot of trouble for that though, make sense to anyone?

Poor planing on Industries part, shouldn't effect my ability to spend time with my family.
Don't I owe it to "America" to raise a well rounded child that has parents present?

America owes it to every child to have a family that can afford to spend time with them growing up instead of being a wage slave. It's time We the People made this priority clear to our elected officials.

Poor planning or it could have been traffic stops, inspections and weather made you go over by an hour. Is that really that bad?
I know why the laws are in place, because a bad apple spoils the bushel. I think we need to have more flexibility though.
Seriously, we can keep a man from driving another 50 miles home and make him park for 30 hrs instead of being with his family. Does that make sense? The new electronic logs can actually shut down your semi.
So you don't care about businesses, do you care about families? Do you think there is no wiggle room to make adjustments to the draconian driver laws?
Koch brothers , Roger Penske, and other like them will benefit. Is that the real reason you are against it?

Repukes had a big FAIL. Only thing I learned is that Hillary can take a 11 hour grilling. Not a lot of people can do that without exposing something or breaking down. I guess nothing could be expose. The Repukes are wasting time and money

All truckers sign on to a job knowing that they will sacrifice quality time with family, unless you drive a fire truck or something. All truckers know that they make no money until the front left and right are on the ground turning.
