well i have dried 4 or five diff things and it depends on what it is to start with some sativas buds are fluffy hang dry for three days

some indaca hang dry for 5 to 7 days to start

i normally hang dry until i like the touch some say when stems snap and dont bend then into folded over brown bag for about 2 or 3 days one again a touch thing

then i start the jar and burping thing about 4 or five times a day cutting back as i go along the jar thing can go on for a week some go for a month

find your zone then be prepared to adjust like first time you dry sativa or you will have overdried tumbleweed if you are not flexible to your dry rules

may the grow gods smile upon your beans my brother

I cut them into branches and manicure the buds, then hang them in a dark area to dry out for a couple of days. When the buds feel dry to the touch on the outside, but they aren't dry inside, they go into paper bags. I generally lay the bag on its side and scatter the weed loosely. The bag can be opened or closed as much as needed for ventilation- but try not to hurry it too much. When the stems of the buds snap they can be jarred for cure, checking daily for damp or mold until all is well. Often it takes 3-5 days before the bags, and 5-7 in the bags.

We posted at the same time- you're right about the sativa, I have a jar full of calyxes that fell off the stems- nothing left on the sticks! Looks like a job for butane...

you will find that different weeds have different needs

you will also find that everyone does does everything a little different

but we all end up at the same place stoned

take it all in do what works for you

lots of luck

Drying all depends on how thick and dense the buds are... Manicure the buds and hang upside down in a dark place with fairly low humidity. This stage can take between 3 days and 2 weeks again it depends on bud thickness.
Then when the buds are dry to touch ( this does not include how sticky they are ) I place them into large paperbags or newspaper stapeled together depending on size of buds ( Of course the bigger the better ) for a further week checking them everyday or twice a day if you like. Then when the stem or branches are nearly snapping i would cut them down and put them into masionary jars or airtight jars and burb 3 - 6 times daily. You will notice the buds curing by the end of the first week. Keep doing this for at least another 2-3 weeks gradually burping to once a day for 5 or so minutes. Again all of the above may vary due to bud thickness. But i beleive it's a good guide line that works well for me.

Happy curing.
