hang dry sounds fine. you can adjust it a bit if you dont like it that way.

after trimming, throw them in jars. open the jars for about an hour or 2 a day. then close them. do this every day for a few weeks.
after that do it about once a week for the next 2 weeks or so maybe longer(you be the judge).

you can pretty much stop after that if you make it that far before smoking it all.

I use a one of those hanging drying racks i got from dro shop for $45. My buds usually spend 2-4 days in that contraption and then into paper bags to roll for a day or so longer. I then throw my nugs into jars as soon as the stem is able to snap and there they stay for about a month. I burp the jar regularly and sample here and there (an sample) until its smooth to smoke and burns appropriately.

i have tried to hang the whole pant before trimming the rest and its a miserable time. chop and trim when you cut the plant down it saces alot of headache and alot of dried crubly leaves sticking to everything.

Iv done that my self very time consuming . I do take most leaves off , even the small leafs coming out from close to the buds. Left one plant before with most small leavess on it was a fking nightmare mate.

Hang-drying takes forever and doesn't make any sense. Small buds dry faster than stems and large buds so you
hangers out there are waiting for stuff to dry out that should have been removed right off the bat.

Drying is removing the moisture, curing is making sure all your product is uniformly the same dryness.

Remove and save all the leaves and nugs you plan to keep. NOTE -- it is much more difficult to trim leaves, etc.
when they are fresh. Letting a plant hang first makes all the smaller stuff wilt and therefor much more time
consuming to clean.

Leave trimmed bud out and covered with a paper towel for about 48 hours until mostly dry. Notice that smaller buds
will be dry and larger ones still soggy. Place al the product in a single glass sealable jar. Mason canning jars are tits.
Seal the jar and leave in the 'fridge overnight. Being sealed up allows whatever moisture still in the product to spread
out evenly. When you open the jar you will see that everything is consistently the same dryness. If not dry enough yet -
open the jar for 12 hours to dry out a bit more. Re-seal that evening for another night in the 'fridge. Every day your bud gets drier
and everything is the same. Quit when you have reached the desired state. That's curing.

BigSteve.

I am trying out a slower dry this time around. The method I am following says to remove the large fan leaves and hang for about 3 days until the leaves are crispy but the bud is still moist. Then finish manicuring the buds and cut them from the stem and place on a cardboard flat for about a week until the stem snaps and then start the curing. I know that trimming is a lot easier when they are fresh, but if it improves the quality then I am all for it.

I just chopped a small Chocolope that I had yesterday. I always trim as soon as I chop. I just find it easier. I trim all the leaves off the plant and cut long branches off of the main stem to hang dry in my rubbermaid tote. It usually takes 3-4 days before they are dry enough to put into jars. Then I put them into mason jars burping them serveral times a day for the first few days depending on how much moisture is left inside the buds. Usually after the first week I burp whenever I go to get some bud to smoke and that's it. It isn't hard. You just don't want your buds to mold inside the jars and that will only happen if you have to much moisture. Just feel the buds and you will be alright.

Trimming right when you chop may be easier but its not best in all situations.
if you dont have the right dry environment then hang drying is the only proper way.

I would get a nice taste and smell off wet trimming and drying, but it was nothing close to as good as when I started hang drying.

If you get the perfect environment to dry in, then sure wet trimming can be done, but I doubt most have that available.

Hey that's great to hear that there is an entire forum dedicated to this thread. Not trying to be rude here but don't you think it would be a bit more helpful to post a link to that forum. I am sure that a lot of the new members would appreciate that. Also isn't the main theme of this entire forum is for people to ask questions and then get back useful replies. Just a thought man, might come off a lot nicer than the rude way you had to mention this other forum. peace out

You say outside -I take it you mean in an out building or something. A dark outside place anyway. Coz bright light kills thc, and it don't get much brighter than outside.
