Best way to get dense/firm nugs?

What is the best way to achieve dense/firm bugs by harvest time? I live in Sacramento, CA and grow will be indoors (18'x8'x8' room). Ask anything you need and/or please help! Getting very airy product and it sucks! Thanks!

Enough lighting of whatever type, it all works if there is enough photons.
If your running ac and heaters sounds like you should seal that room and run co2. But that's not my bag so not the guy to answer those questions.
I vent to control heat and keep co2 replenished from basic air exchange.
I have never had an airy bud that wasn't under the canopy and shaded.


What lighting and how much are you running and what strains are giving you airy buds?

What temps are you at?

What genetics are you growing and how long did you let them flower for? Most new growers harvest their plants 2-4 weeks earlier then they should and that will always result in lower quality then the plant is capable of.

Well I need to get more lighting clearly. First I will state that I understand the reasoning for nothing and are exchanged for heat control when using HPS lights or similar. I actually only have LED lights that I am trying to run and need to get more lights in the near future to be able to grow more plants indoors. That said I have three different lights at the moment.viparspectra 600watt, Viparspectra 600PLUS (700watt), and a spider COB (360 watt).
Most strains that I have grown have given me Airy buds but I have had to move into a separate room since due to the fact that it gets way too hot and way to dry in the room that I was using Etc. Some strains that have given me trouble with Airy buds include forbidden fruit zookies Candyland banana OG and a few others. I want to know that that room is not set up nearly how it should be so I understand where I made mistakes. Just trying to start a new

Thundercat- the Viparspectra and COB that I posted ^...genetics from local farms (mostly Humboldt) and ad stated - past temps sucked! 85-90 degrees!
Flowering 2 mo-2 mo + 2 weeks on average...but I have accidentally harvested early w/ bad results too

The lights you listed aren’t optimal but can still grow some herb. If you are trying to cover very much space with them that is likely the issue. Figure out how many actual watts each light draws from the wall figure out how many watts per sq ft you wanna run and then set the lights up to cover that amount of space. Trying to cover too much area with a light will make for airy buds.

I hope your right just got my gavitas up and going this will be first run with em but man are they bright. Bright enough I consider d buying some of the method 7 glasses til I saw the price on em. Out of all the diff kinda lights I’ve tried nothing has hurt my eyes quite as much as these.

the best way to get large firm bugs is to feed them their food of choice..... :o but do you really want bugs in your grow room? You don't want bugs in your pants.........therefore you should not want them in your grow.:D

Poking fun aside. Ducting and a filter are a must in my book. Your plants need co2. If you are not drawing in fresh air to replenish their supply, you will need to provide co2 via a tank, shrooms, or other means. You will also want a filter even if you do not pull in fresh air and vent out just to help contain or eliminate the smell. Even though you are in a legal state, and may love the smell of your plants, your loved ones or neighbors may not.

Sounds like your temps are to high to start. I don't grow LED, but I believe with LED lighting optimal temps are low 80s.

LED is great lighting, but the specific ones you are using aren't awesome, and don't put out the wattage they are listed at like Corey pointed out. See how many watts you actually have and use a grow space that fits that wattage, or get more/better lights.

Having fresh air exchange is vital unless you are supplementing CO2. The plants can't grow with out it.

Gotcha, yeah I'm dialing it all in as I go, but practices aren't really the issue. Temps WERE.

Figured as much, so thanks for confirmation. As stated (to ward beginning of this), I'm going to incorporate more lighting, so I'll be sure to get good coverage. Thank you!

All noted, thanks! I DO have A/C in there, so there is fresh air coming in, but not necessarily going out (except opening door etc). Still set up ducting and all? Or not necessary? To confirm. And no...no bugs lol....NUGS.
