thanks dude. i downloaded ultimate paint but the file size was too big to post. i suck with art anyway. i do have a window and a window ac. so i can suck all the air out of the containing room. the question is will i be sending out smells. i know this bagseed doesnt smell but what about the thc bomb? i will be figuring things out and will let you know what i do.


also mjseeds.nl sent me the wrong seeds. theyy sent me afghan. is this a preety good strain. i know it seems to be a classic strain. i guess i will grow some afghan in the meantime while they are sending the right shit.

i guess if i have to run the window and the portable then will. i just hate to use so much electric. i made a thread about that and it seems a lot of guys are doing worse then me. i also have a ozone generator that i can sit right next to the window ac but if i draw air in from it then i might get a little ozone in the room. but i dont have to bring in so much air i guess since i have a co2 bucket. i think? i mean the co2 bucket doesnt really tell you how much it puts out though. so it would kind of suck if i quit exhausting and the bucket isnt enough. its always something isnt it? if only i had a couple more grand. lol
 
oh this is an easy fix... move the carbon filter to the containing room... set it to blow outside.... so that it is sucking air from the containing room and running it through the filter and blowing it outside... easy way is to attach a cardboard box the size of the window over the window... use the top of the box for this... in the bottom of the box, which should now be facing the center of the room, cut out a hole and attach the exhaust duct from the carbon filter to that... open the window so the air can exhaust outside... the carbon filter WILL take care of the smell... just make sure you get a new one every year or at the first hint of smell... this means checking the exhaust smell occasionally... then just exhaust your portable a/c and grow room into the containment room as it is now... so now you have the heat being sucked out of the big room while maintaining a controlled envrionment inside your grow room... still cut out that hole to help equalize the pressure... but that really is the easiest thing to do... will that work?
 
okay, ivented the portable ac about 40 feet away and outside. im stillrunning the window unit and will report my findings when i check on it tomorrow.
 
so while i was designing and re designg, my girls went through 100 degree days for 4 days. here are pics of them and the aero setup the one plant in the aero is fucking huge even after the water failure.

those are the best pics i can get with the damn hps. but basically the taller plants are burned pretty well. the buds still dont seem too compact except for one plant that i will try to get a better pic of. i guess im just gonna focus on getting clones made from the thc bomb that i have and im starting 20 afghan seeds and i just got 20 more thc bomb. so i guess this should be my main focus since im going broke and i have stressed these practice plants every way imaginable.
 
yes, i finally got it . i turnes off the exhaust fan and i am running the ac exhaust all the way to another room and out the window. it blows pretty good but to prepare for smells i am going to put the carbon filter in the room and on the window side of the filter i will attach a cheap inline fan to help keep the air moving.

its just that the practice plants look pitiful. i am focusing on cloning and getting seed started and ill just see what happens.

if anyone is ever looking into making an aero set-up i would reccomend that you poke hole in the pvc with red hot sewing needles. my raindrip 360 degree sprayers are always clooging. i used the needles and they work very well. i will do an in depth report on the whole aero thing later.
 
well the heat thing will make a HUGE difference.. the practice plants should bounce back in a while tho... basically they have choked themselves out... when heat is too high, and if exhaust isnt removing enough of that heat, the stomata of the plants close.. those are what they transpire and breath through.. they close off to save water... if its too high they all close.. and like anything.. if it cant breath it starts to die... might take a week or so but they should hopefully be ok.. i would smist them with some thrive alive or the equivilent of it.. should help them...
 
mold shouldnt be a huge problem.. i am guessing you have enough air movement to at least keep mold at bay... havent had any signs yet right?? and if its only a light mist every other day for about a week you shouldnt have to worry at all.. its takes high humidity, almost no air movement, and the presence of mold spores anyways... so im am confident that you'll be fine misting... the idea of misting when the lights just came on is that its coolest then and the stomata will be open and can absorb as much of it throught the leaf before it gets to hot and they close back up...
 
got a couple of MxA freebie seedlings. looks like some of the afghan is going to sprout. just planted 2 thcbomb and hoping the other 8 will germinate. the practice plants still look l,ike shit plus the buds are still not very dense and i have no light leaks. i think i have fucked them completely. if they dont turn around ill get rid of them and use the space for the new seedlings and cloning and what not.
 
forgot to mention, my filter, i think its a can 55 only has one open side. it is not an inline filter so now i am worried about the smell again. if i ever have smells. i was going to put the filter inline with the ac exhaust. fuck.

As for your concern of smell, as long as there is negative pressure in your op, and you have an appropriate exhaust fan/filter, no smell can get out... period...

So if you do it right, you do not have to worry... period...

I'll read over and comment but it seems you were off to a bit of a rough start...

how far along are you into flowering bro?? it takes a while to see denser buds.. some strains just have airier buds anyways.. so that could be the problem.. or they could just have been stressed so much that they arent yielding well.. just enough strength to grow something and stay alive, but just on that edge of not coming back?? hard to tell ya what to do... follow your instinct though...

what do you mean by one side open?? like the white cotton prefilter came off?? can filters work by pulling air in through the activated carbon... the carbon bonds, on a molecular level, with scent and smell molecules, as the pass through the microscopic holes in carbon.... thus no smell... as long as your air is being pulled through the filter you should have smell anyways... as was said as long as you have negative pressure so air is being pulled into your grow room vs being pushed out you should be fine with the can filter... i use a can 55 filter in my room and you can't smell anything.. even inside the room the smell is faint... most you can really smell is the smell of a garden... i think that mostly has to do with the dirt anyways..
 
i mean my filter is like a cup sort of. it has an opening and a flange for 6 inch duct. i thought the bottom side was also open and ready for a flange. so really i was mistaken. i had planned on putting the filter inline with exhaust from the ac. (this is the only way exhaust leaves my room} i can use my original exhaust fan to circulate air through the filter. i could just leave it i n the room.?.? if that would take care of any smell entering the containing room, then i could use my ion gen. inline with the exhaust.
 
is it a smaller filter?? the can 55 filter i have is huge and weights like 60 lbs.. just tryin to get figure out yours for sure... can you take pics by chance??
