Another fish story,She got away with my rod so i grabbed another real fast and hooked
the other ones line with a Rattletrap.
After a long battle,A few falls and a trip its a damn Turtle!!:cuss:
Did manage to catch 9-10 small ones,So it was a good time.
My biggest is 12.72,from Lake Fork,Texas.
Our local water supply is only like 5 miles so I just go there almost
daily this time of year for the spawn.
Some big fish in there also,7.05 last yr.

Any you guys like to Bass fish?

Sounds fun! I haven't been fishing for awhile since I moved west. I like fishing for walleye and musky (and bass when available) so I'm a little jealous even if it was a turtle. It's fun not knowing what's on the other end of the line.

Is this wayyyy north, like Hudson bay?
No I don't go that far north. South of North Bay. Mangetawan, Burks Falls, Bracebridge, in and around that area. That whole area to the west of Algonquin pretty much is where I go. The French River is really nice.

Muskie fishing is fun, Ive caught a couple of those.

I have 3 small ponds across the street from me. I have pulled a near 6 pounder out of there and my wife caught one that was bigger.
Something, probably a catfish, broke my 8 pound test like it was thread.

I'll bide my time in the ponds until the run off is over, then it is trout time.

I was fishing off the bank in a cove late at night and the police pulled in. The next thing I know he was above me on the bank asking what I was doing,I said fishing. He asked me for a light for his ciggarette,I guess so he could see if I was drinking or smoking weed. I set my pole down and went up the bank to give him a light and when I looked back my pole was being dragged in the lake. I took off running down the hill to try and get my pole which was 10 or 15ft out by now. I ran in the water to try and get my pole. I managed to get to it and stand on it so I could grab it. I got the fishing pole and went back to the bank soaked all over and reeled it in with the fish still on it. The cop said Shit Im sorry and have a good night and that he would tell the other officers not to bother me while I fished. He was true to his word and nobody bothered me the rest of the night.

I can relate, I have been fishing Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn for the last 25 years solid and have a place on Toledo Bend as well.
The "Bed Fishing" for bass is heating up, but the crappie fishing has been un-freakin real here for the last 2 weeks. My mother-n-law is 74 and she caught an 19.5" crappie that hit almost 2.5lbs. I have cleaned over 300 in the last 2 weeks. Will be headed back tomorrow evening after work, going to be a nice weekend for sure.

Peace and Tight Lines for All !

I caught a bass once. I failed to be impressed with it's fight though, I thought bass were supposed to be epic fighters, but I've caught drum with more spunk than this guy had.

EDIT : I guess I should post something constructive...I like to fish for catfish mostly, or carp. I like the relaxing fishing more than the cast and reel fishing.

Depends on the tackle you're using (reel type, flexibility of the pole), size and health of the fish. Catch bigger bass on lighter tackle and they put up quite a fight.

I was just using an old ugly stick with a light reel, something like 8 pound test line, if I recall correctly.
