Maher is a smart man, no doubt. I would enjoy a conversation with him very much. So, I'm surprised and not surprised at the same after time reading this article.Haven't seen his show in awhile, I came across this article and found it pretty accurate and interesting. May be time to start watching his show again.

I'm not surprised that Bill Maher has this observation, he's a smart man. He can think critically and analytically. And he isnt afraid to piss people off or discuss difficult topics. I like that about him.
I am surprised to hear it being said, by someone with his stature and history of liberal support. Is he bordering on treason within the liberal world? I wouldnt know. But I do know statements like this can cause whirlwinds in that land, because it places blame and responsibility at their own feet. Most people dont like to be at fault for something they perceive as bad.
Could this be described as a potential slide to the middle? Dare I say, to the right? Definitely doesnt seem to be a move further left.
