Blaze & Daze

The power of the sacred, oversized rodentia blesses us today.
Doink rolled, coffee poured.

General anxiety has been generally quiet this morning.
I am not expected to resolve the tech woes of boomers in a dying/stressed industry.
Weeds wait with anticipation for their culling. Chlorophyll will spill before this day ends.

Don't forget to restart your PCs, or your soul, every few days.
Forgive yourself of your transgressions (I have purchased from the entity known as Bezos recently, I will try to be better).
And maybe treat yourself to that bubble hash that you eyed in the dispo last week.

May the spirit of the coffee that stirs me to the highest throne on this mortal plane add an extra step in your day.

Plug aerated the lawn earlier this week and spread 50lbs of wheat and 100lbs of grass seed. The sparrows and doves are loving the free seeds. 3 out of 4 cats have kittens, so they're too busy to chase away birds. The weather is decent for things to sprout.

We have a huge property to take care of and the grubs ate so many spots. We dug some test holes,I just dug a tiny scoop to see and found 6 in a handful of dirt. Lady stopped doing treatment years ago. So company came out and will do something later in season to put down. We just seeded and fertilized almost 100lbs of seed with three days of rain coming.

We used to have 6 female and one male seabuckthorn bushes but the Japanese beetles would defoliate them annually, depriving us of a harvest - so I tore them out - no issues with that beetle variant since. I'd placed traps for the beetles and they filled up quickly. Not sure if their grubs were an issue for the lawn though.

The June bugs are neat to watch at dusk. The cats go wild for them, leaping in the air for a tasty treat. (Cats eat lots of crickets and grasshoppers too.) So there's not too much lawn damage with the cats killing them before they get a chance to lay eggs. Traps are easy to make, using a funnel, water bottle, and molasses/water mixture - prevention vs cure/poison approach.

I love skunks as they're nature's free lawn aeration. Last year when the sweet gum tree lost a limb, there was a baby skunk that took refugee under it and the adjacent woodpile. I tried my best to befriend the little stinker in hopes of adopting it permanently, even bringing it cat food. Get over here and let me love you already! But it wasn't having any of it. Oh well, I tried.

Exalted is the gardener who wakes up sunday morning to feel every corner of their physical frame, tinged by the sting of yesterday's momentum.
10k steps between mowing, gardening, general big box commerce, and satiating the needs of a boxer.
There was additional physical activity achieved, but due to clothing restrictions, no recorded metrics were captured.

Really, the only thing I would have changed about yesterday would have been the choice I made for dinner.

Coveted is the coffee in his mug, the cannabis on his rolling tray, and the hashish in his gaze.
The Sacred Capybara offers you his last remaining fuck, wholeheartedly. May your day of Sun be bright.

Years ago someone gave us a pet skunk (a no-stinker) and it was cool for a bit, but that think was as dumb as a sack of hammers.

They're quite docile and not easily excitable. There have been plenty in the live trap - just talk nice to them while approaching and gently open the trap while saying nice kitty and they leave with no care in the world.

One year I did have one raise it's ass in the air as if to try and confront me - likely startled it as I was checking on some plants around the pond. Apparently I'd gotten too close to its food source - a nest of snapping turtle eggs.

Yea I knew when I posted that treatment of grubs you wouldn't like the poison part I really don't either but owner and guy I work for doesn't listen. We do those Japanese beetle bags everywhere tho. My buddies cat is one of the coolest he trained him to a leash when little and bathing so he doesn't get scratched cat loves it. It's a Norwegian/Maine coon. Kills everything in sight and makes chirps, and different sounds for mice, chipmunks what ever sound they make he copies. Cute little skunk,my buddies Grandpa used to sit on his porch with every wildlife that hung out with him, possum, skunks, racoons you name it.

Jinjer is a massively talented band with amazing musicians creating complex, unorthodox, and unique music. The lead singer has a controlled, sweet, and emotive voice, but with a technique so surprising it doesn't even seem real. Check it, just perfect for a Sunday...
