LOL, I lOVED having a pickup truck, granted it was an old woodhauler beater F150 but still. My GF heated with wood so I did all that for a couple of years, no where near 11 cords, she bought coal as well. Hated it/loved it, ya know?I'm glad you got something you're happy with. Back when I was heating with wood (11 cords a year) I had a 3/4 ton Suburban, different times/lives different needsI may have hauled a tree or two myself back in the day.

and it took me 2 years to find that one so I'm not letting moss grow under my toes this time, 2-4 years is my new replacement window ;D
We are supposed to start hitting our regular temps for this time of year but since it was cool we are still green and not desert brown. Humidity is going to be crazy here for a bit I'm guessing. Good luck with yours.

Rain day. No pizza for me.
Been building a privacy fence so I have a little less of my neighbor. I really wish a meteor would take them out.
Life has bad people in it..... sometimes you meet one, guess it's my turn!
Fence building is a good work out though, I am enjoying that.

Of fences, terriers and ravens; I have an aviary in my back yard that houses a baby raven. Turns out ravens are very smart so the baby now teases my terriers, speaking of an asshole neighbor. The baby flaunts its' meatballs by tossing tiny pieces until the dogs are lured over at which point it fluffs up and yells at them (wonder who he learned that fromRain day. No pizza for me.

), anyway I turn on the sprinklers. I have to put up a temporary cross fence until the baby has left the building! Hopefully sometime later today, the fence not the smartass baby. There is coffee to be drank first.

Gunshots are not good. Her wing looked great and I'd preserved her range of motion but during the intramedullary nail removal the wing collapsed, necrotic bone from their poor circulatory system in their wings. So I took her home because my vet was gutted and couldn't do the amputation she will now need.
I'm on the fence over amputating or euthanizing. So we both needed sometime to consider this. I'll base this on her choice. If she's happy we can amputate and she can take up residence in my outdoor aviary and continue her life. If she's not happy she can just fall asleep.

A rare BB backstory:
Back when I thought I knew everything and thought working as a pump jockey/tire buster in a full service gas station (Green stamps, w/shield, check oil, the works) sucked, I worked a summer: a) digging post holes by hand for a guy who did chain link fence and; b) running bundles of shingles up and down a ladder (shingle monkey). After that the gas station job didn't look too bad.

Perspective it isn't just for art
She will act depressed and Leucy is someone I know well. But it still takes some time to know for sure.
Ravens aren't solitary animals but I have a young baby who has acclimated well and loves the feeding regimen otherwise I would have released him. He was rejected by his flock and he's a bit developmentally disabled as was Leucy. But she's been coming to me her entire life so I think we stand a chance since she was driven off too. They could work it out together.
My vet works with the zoos out here and handles the avians although he did take a lion in for a spinal fracture and worked with my veterinary neurosurgeon in San Diego. So she's got a good team behind her. It's up to her now, cross your fingers for us! I'd like to see her choose to stay but it's her choice after all.

I've been scanning photographs for a friends' memorial. Naturally, the most important photo the subject is wearing deep black and has black hair. I used every trick I had short of photoshop which I don't currently have. My scanner software does a fairly good job but there are always artifacts to deal with. I scanned it 7 times before I was happy/gave up, lol.
Edit: and I don't have the negs anymore. Shit happens and legacy media storage is like HID lighting, bound for the next world.
