We are all nerds of some fashion ... freight train & airplane takeoff/landing videos on YouTube float my boat.... yes I’m a sci-fi nerd ...
My nerdiness has so many facets I'm Diamond Level nerd.
Speaking of floating boats ... also been into Great Lakes freighter videos. Someone films those massive steel bathtubs coming in and out of the Duluth Harbour.... videos on YouTube float my boat ...
I just pictured those little gator arms trying to lift the head onto the body.... The gators about an hour north should have built a snowman ...
Now you're talking. Lakers in ice fog. All Gordon Lightfooty.Speaking of floating boats ... also been into Great Lakes freighter videos. Someone films those massive steel bathtubs coming in and out of the Duluth Harbour.
With our golf trip in Niagara every year, I've been fortunate to see quite a few of those big boats in action. They come trundling through the Welland Canal and I've seen 'em at the Regional Rd. 59 lift bridge just south of the QEW in St. Catharines and a few kms further south between Thorold and Port Robinson at the Allenburg Lift Bridge over Highway 20.

Liking the long blast of the lake freighter's horn way better than the horn show from a train locomotive.... Now you're talking. Lakers in ice fog ...
That’s a cool illusion.
Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 would beg to differ. I stood 20 feet away from that and even with ear plugs it was near cranial meltdown.Liking the long blast of the lake freighter's horn way better than the horn show from a train locomotive.
I’m like ….a punctuality nerd. I think it started being a competitive swimmer for a long time and practicing by timing intervals with the clock.i started at a very young age. Held the 10 and under 25 Yard backstroke record for a long time.in retrospect that makes total sense. I am still good at not seeing where I’m going. LolMy nerdiness has so many facets I'm Diamond Level nerd.

I went to Niagara so one night while (I can only presume) drunk & high, my college roommates and I climbed the Allenburg bridge. My finest moment? No. Oh to be young and dumb again. Actually, no.
