Blimburn AK, slow upward growth? Or am I worrying for nothing?

Yeah I drowned a chocolope seed as well. It sucks balls cause I love that strain and she's won a shit ton of awards. But I've got a couple back ups. Keep fingers crossed that they will pop. I decided to go into the seed vault and pull a star ryder from Dutch passion to grow along side my think different. I'm Doing them both DWC so I hope I have the room for both of em in my 3x3. Oh well I'll make em fit lol.
Nice man! Your ak is looking great! Ak lot better than mine -_-

Pauly, sorry if I missed it. At what height is the light located in respect to the plant?
Depends on growth between 20-18"ish

I think 18" is fine, but put the plant directly under the light, not aside. If the light is too far, the plant stretches, if close, it gets more bushy and less stretched.

Regarding nutes, I would wait and see. For me, I noticed they start to stretch after weeks 3-4. The dark green color of your leaves indicate it is not lacking any nitrogen. I would just wait and see how it behaves before adding any nutes with more N and wait to see if the green goes lighter, if already flowering, I won't add any more N.

I was going to ask you about ventilation:

You stated: "right now im sitting at 74-81 with an oscilating fan poking out the bottom of the tent, and one pointing at the light."

You need to extract hot air on the top and inject fresh air from the bottom. Hot air goes up naturally. You are currently making a bag of turbulent hot air in the top of the tent if you are not extracting any air up there. You are also spending more watts unnecessarily by using those 2 big fans in that way. Are the lower vents open?

I just posted a new thread for sharing my setup with you. I'm not using any expensive ventilation but I think it is working just fine on a very low budget. ( $30 for 2 vents ). I take fresh air from the bottom intakes, I move the air below and AROUND the leaves and then I extract any hot air and humidity at the top vents.

Pauly, couple more questions:

- How deep did you plant the seed?
- How heavy is the pot when dry? Is the soil too packed or is it airy and light?

I ask because I just noticed the dry rice peelings in the soil and where I live they tend to add those rice peelings to the dirty/heavy soil to make it more airy.

Basically, there is a dryer vent in the room im using and cold air pours down there from the fire place. So it basically does an air exchange. I've put my thermometer up top and on top of the light and its about the same in both areas. All the vents are open on the bottom, and my fan is directly in front of one of the intakes and the vent flap. Air circulation is not a problem my man. As for nutes, I plan on waiting for a little while. I'm using organic unsulfureated molasses that i got from the grow store right now. My auto and my little seedlings love it! When i planted all of them i pushed a hole down to my first knuckle on my pinkey and wiped dirt over the hole I dont know about weight of the pot, but i dig down a little ways and wait til its really dry. The soil is pretty airy. It is Moonshine green from Batch 64. A reputable soil co, people say wait till week 6-8 or when you start showing deff. But I dont plan on running any nutes with my auto.

Get that light as close as possible without burning her up.
Ill drop it a few inches. The LST on the one branch is working well! Now the plan is to basically make 4 main colas if time allows and just tie them to 4 opposite sticks on the 4 :"corners" of the pot. Does that sound like a relatively efficient way to allow more bud growth? Or am I looking at LST all wrong?

Yeah one could do it that way. As long as you aren't bending the branches until they snap because that would be hst. I prefer hst with limited space. It's hard for me to bend the branches on my girls til they snap but the results are awesome. Good luck man. Keep me updated.

So shes been growing good, it seems like a thick stem is growing from the node that i tied over at. So do I wait till this part grows up to tie it down? Or should i be tying more branches down?

Let's see some pics of her tie down job so far.

we need to probably wait to see but I say you wait until the secondary branches have 2 nodes to bend them, that way the 1st and 2nd nodes have the chance to develop vertical branches.

Typically you want to do the same thing to opposing branches to get uniformity and better light penetration of lower branches. Also your lil popcorn buds will be minimal as they will get larger in size if the branches are tied down horizontally. You want to keep your tie a lil loose as well so the branch has room to grow. Are you still keeping her on a 24 hr cycle man? And have you introduced any veg or flower nutes yet?

I had to let a buddy of mine take my AK and my maxi gom bro. I'm sad as hell too. I had planted too many seeds for such a small area (3x3x6). I had nine plants going because I could fit the smart pots in and didn't even think about how overcrowded it would get when they got big. Oh well. He's running those two under my 400 watt hps at his place so I can get better air flow and so the other girls- white widow(2), nyc diesel(1), think different (1) in a DWC, and a star ryder (1) can do their thing.

If you can even make sense of any of the pics, last one is if the group of hairs on the the top of the one I tied. I think I'm going to tie a couple different 2node branches that are thriving down and see what happens? Also I haven't introduced any nutes still just the molasses every other watering. quick question about molasses. If I mixed a 2gallon batch, can it go bad or cause any negative effects from mixing the batch together and having it sit till I run out?
