Blimburn AK, slow upward growth? Or am I worrying for nothing?

I had to let a buddy of mine take my AK and my maxi gom bro. I'm sad as hell too. I had planted too many seeds for such a small area (3x3x6). I had nine plants going because I could fit the smart pots in and didn't even think about how overcrowded it would get when they got big. Oh well. He's running those two under my 400 watt hps at his place so I can get better air flow and so the other girls- white widow(2), nyc diesel(1), think different (1) in a DWC, and a star ryder (1) can do their thing.
we need to probably wait to see but I say you wait until the secondary branches have 2 nodes to bend them, that way the 1st and 2nd nodes have the chance to develop vertical branches.
New pics!

If you can even make sense of any of the pics, last one is if the group of hairs on the the top of the one I tied. I think I'm going to tie a couple different 2node branches that are thriving down and see what happens? Also I haven't introduced any nutes still just the molasses every other watering. quick question about molasses. If I mixed a 2gallon batch, can it go bad or cause any negative effects from mixing the batch together and having it sit till I run out?
Nah your molasses mix is good. Just shake it up real good of course. But yeah pauly she looks real healthy. Keep doing what you're doing and she should be just fine. If you're only adding molasses as a fert then that's cool. Not a lot of flushing to do later. If the molasses is working good as a feed for her then keep her on it indefinitely and don't add a bunch of other stuff unless you start seeing obvious deficiencies. Good job.

Thanks man I appreciate it, you'll have to let me know how it turns out for your buddy. On another note. My molasses water mixture is starting to smell sour...I assume that is bad. Mostly because I'm watering two seedlings and one 3gal pot and I mixed a 2.5gal container that's about half gone and smells pretty gross.

Just a little update, she's looking good, tore a branch off trying to LST, so she's a little lop sided, but hopefully more tying can fix that. Trichs and sugar leaves starting to pop up all over and have been seeing some nice bud growth. Switching to hps today.
Will switching to hps affect my other two veg photos? If I switch it for a couple weeks to finish out flower for my auto and then switch back to mh?

Nah it shouldn't effect the other photos. But they do get the better blue spectrum from mh

she's looking damn nice man. Should be some real good meds!!
Thanks man! I'm getting more and more excited, especially since she's not dead! Haha but I know the blue spectrum is better for the veging, I just don't have two spaces or ballasts yet. So maybe I'll throw a cfl close to the little guys to give them some extra blue spectrum?

Why do people grow auto's indoors? Not trying to be a jerk, just seriously wondering?

I mean, you've handicapped yourself with a plant that is on a time limit, so if everything doesn't go exactly as planned, you have no time to recover from mistakes. You will get less yield. And you've got a plant crossed with Ruderelis that has little to no THC. I can't see the reason to do this indoors, only outdoors where you need to harvest quickly. You compromise and give up having control of when it flowers and finishes, get a smaller yield, and less potency to gain speed outdoors.....but indoors, you control the speed of finishing by controlling the light.....so why? I'm really curious, it's all cons and no pros that I can think of.....unless you are growing outdoors, then those compromises may be worth it.
Old school is right with respect to getting it spot on right away with no issues. I told my brother that he has to be ready from the start with everything he needs, no little cups or jiffy plugs, because autos really want to "hit the ground running."
I grew this particular strain indoors as my first auto grow around three years ago. I am very old school and i read my way through all the skepticism of the early fem seeds decades ago. Overgrow was full of threads dissing fem seeds. Autos took the same hit over a decade ago, and are strong as hell now. My Blimburn AK auto was a freebie from Attitude. It ended up three feet tall, harvested around day 58 from seed, and had over three zips of sweet and mellow tasting afghani.

I just see no problem with small cups, I like to use them to avoid having the pot soaked in water while the roots reach the bottom and I have had no problems at all transplanting plants 1 week after the leaf circumference passes the cup circumference. By this time, the roots are wrapping the soil tight and it is really easy to transplant in once piece.

I grew a World of Seeds Afghan Kush Ryder that was the fastest growing plant I ever saw.
Take a look at Dutch Passion's Think Different. Its a stupid name, but the plant has measured well above the norm for photos (its an auto).
Autos are well established, have come along way, and are well worth it.
On the other hand, no cloning, no mothers, and less control are huge issues for advanced growers.
Super autos bring strains with long finishes within the range of indoor manageability - I think this may be one pro that can be counted toward indoor auto growing.

What works best for you is best. What about the issue with damaging the roots when you transplant from the cup? If your in a 1 gal smartbag or superroots airpot to start, you may be able to get the transplant done with less trouble, and autos don't do well after a transplant compared to those that never had one, because the internal time clock is still ticking while its making up for the shakeup.
Just a thought. I cut down the side of a cloth type pot like a smartpot with scissors, and scoop the ball out from under - trying to avoid damage. It helps I think. I can't recall the last time I used a cup, must have been about twenty years ago or more.
I can control moisture with out any issues in a small cloth type pot. Then there is the breathing issue with small plastic cups, soil doesn't circulate air in and out of the root ball in those. Yes I know your not waiting long enough to build a root ball of sorts in them but that begs the question as to why you are using them. Anyone who has flipped over a cup to transplant knows how iffy that is. Cutting through plastic w/o disturbing the soil is not easy. If your running autos, start in a much larger pot, preferably the one it ends in.

I had to let my buddy take care of my Blimburn AK. I hated to let her go from home because I'm a freak when it comes to my girls! I am more protective and show them way more love than I ever had any piece of gash!! But man is she fucking awesome!! She's already three feet tall and she's getting taller fellas! Idk when she's gonna quit growing up but she sure is growing out as well! I can't believe how much she stretched an I hst every single thing I grow!! She's gonna be a three zipper easy! My white widows are doing the same.

Sorry to confuse but the pic is of one of my two white widow strains from 7 dwarfs seeds. 7dwarfs calls it GIGANTES. Appropriately named if you ask me.
