BLuE DrEaM - **CFL Armoire Grow** (FOX FARM all the way..)

Let me start off by saying my hand is broken so typing is incredibly cumbersome. I wanted to get this thread going none the less. So I will keep things brief and for the time being contribute mostly a visual log of my feminized :leaf:BLUE DREAM:leaf: plant. This is my first venture back in to growing in quite a while and I am admittedly a little rusty (the broken hand doesn't help either ;-)). I have always had amazing results with my CFL Armoire setup in years past, so I decided to jump back in full throttle.

So I had exactly 4 seeds of feminized Blue Dream from one of my favorite overseas repositories along with 2 bag seeds from some delicious bud I had had over the last few months (I know finding a random seed or two in good weed is more than a crap shoot when it comes to growing them, but I figured what the hell, If they come out like mutants i'll just kill them off early). So I germinate the 2 bag seeds and decided that I'll germinate 3 out of the 4 Blue Dream I had, saving one just to be safe. So like 2 days into the wet paper towel method, this hurricane hits (you may have heard of it... Sandy?), we lose power, and the heat source for the germinating seeds shuts down. 10 days later the power comes back and of course everything is completely dead. So I start over.. with the last seed in my possession. 36 hours in to germination and the seed cracks open and is ready for soil. I hadn't taken any pictures at this point unfortunately.

I transplanted it into FOX FARM Ocean Forest potting soil, and have been following the indicated regimen for fertilizing with initially FOX FARM "Big Bloom" and now a combination of "Big Bloom" and FOX FARM "Grow Big"

Everything is going extremely well. I have it at the 2 week point and it looks absolutely beautiful. It looks good in the pictures but they still don't do justice to just how hearty and beautiful this little guy is. I have it under (2) 105w 5000k CFL bulbs in a hanging reflector. I have 2 more of the same bulb on the way so Eventually I will have it under (4) 105w 5000k CFLs (I like the 5000K light temp for vegging, have had amazing results in the past). For the time being its just the (2) though. 24/0 Light Cycle.

So here are the photo's. I will add more as I deem appropriate. Let me know what you think. I am always open to suggestion and would appreciate any encouragement .

I think I'm going to re-pot it in it's final container today as it seems to be getting large rather quickly.

Re-potted into a Home Depot paint bucket, sitting in a plastic plant dish. I drilled holes in the bottom for watering at the base. Placed some choice rocks from around the yard in the bottom and filled it up with FOX FARM Ocean Forest potting soil. Had an extra 42w 2700k CFL that I use for flowering sitting around, so I figured until I get the other (2) 105w 5000k bulbs, it wouldn't hurt to add in the one 2700k. Considering the reflector houses 3 bulbs and I was only occupying 2 of them. A little dual spectrum I've heard can be good. So Right now its (2) 105w 5000k CFL's on either side of one 42w 2700k CFL. 5000k-2700k-5000k hanging only inches from the plant. She looks happy ;-)

Got rid of the (1) 42w 2700k CFL and replaced it with (1) 125w 6500k CFL. So now the arrangement is, 5000k (105w) - 6500k (125w) - 5000k (105w), for a total of 335w.

After a few days under the new light configuration, she is looking happier than ever

I was thinking of taking the bottom (4) shoots and making clones. The last photo I have attached is an edited one that indicates the shoots and their respective tops. Any thoughts or comments would really be appreciated.

So, here she is...

Just bend it over with some string so those 4 shoots turn to what look like plants themselves. That will make the new nodes at the top grow bigger so then you can just clone one of them and keep the first four nice they are already nice and big. Your plant will get more weed too.

I did a FIM at the top, slowing vertical growth, and creating four new branch sites. By the time the new growth really kicks in at the top, I believe those 4 lower branches will catch up and create a nice full canopy. I'll throw up a picture later.

+Rp, and Good luck man! That is a crazy short story, and kinda hilarious. Can't imagine how it would have looked if you had all 5 go fem, too bad.
I am subbed, that is a damn purdy grow. Such a fat little stock! I would defs be interested in growing a "Blue Dream" once i see your results =)

Check out my ghetto but solid grow somewhere in my recent posts ;)

Peace

Just for laughs, here's an X-RAY of my broken hand. Nice fracture of the fifth metacarpal. (Notice, I never take off the titanium/diamond ring my mother bought me for my 21st birthday, even for X-RAYS ).

I decided to let a little more time pass between posts, so here is my beautiful female Blue Dream plant @ 4 & 1/2 weeks from seed. The width of the stem is about the size of a US quarter .
Did a combination of topping, supercropping, & some LSTing. Added (4) 23w 5000k CFL's, giving a combined total of 427w of CFL light ranging from 5000-6500k. Seems to have worked out well. Probably let her veg just a couple more weeks, then time to flower. I plan on making some clones either today or tomorrow.

so jealous of the fat stem!
It's so spanned and fat at the top. I would love to know in more detail how you tied branches down or how you got them so huge!

I am still subbed =)

Loooking good miss my cfl growing. Your plants look great. You sure thats Blue Dream I've grown it a few times and the leaves are usually thinner blades then that. But doing seeds you can always get different phenos.

How about those clones bro? What process did you use if you did so
-Been lazy, probably Wednesday, before I shift the light cycle into flowering.

8weeks? How long have you been 12/12? What's the stretch been like?
- She is on a 24h/day light cycle. This is my last week of vegging. I like my plants hearty. When I do switch, she'll be kept in the dark for a few days, then flowered under 6500k for the first week or two, until flowers develop. That should mostly defeat the stretch, I believe.

She's looking nice bro.
- Thank You

Nice with the patience to veg for 8 weeks. 4 soild weeks of veg. pushed my limits and I hope to never do it again!
Read a lot of different places that older bud is better anyways...
And I'll be around to peep the results of flowering w/65k for the first couple weeks.
GL bro
