Blumats. Who's using them?

I did the blumat classics. I started them a week before I left(for 5 days) to verify they were working and try to adjust height of rez to proper height. I still watered lightly till I left. They seemed to work in keeping them alive. But they weren’t happy when I came back. Rez was practically empty. I prefer to water by hand as needed over constant water, seems I get quicker growth. Moral of my story is they work if you do it right. I probably needed a bigger rez and have it up higher. I’ll use them again for when I travel.

Im getting great growth. Only watered by hand twice since planted and only 2ltr each of microbial mass

I checked my plants today and they look fine. Thankfully no lost leaves or anything. I'm reconsidering this tiny pot setup because that was too close to an all out loss. I'm sure all would have been fine if I were using regular sized pots. Mine get sucked dry in like 6 hours at this point.

They're perfect. Other than the fact they leak the yellow dye off the filter. Fuck. Gona check that link for some adapters

Can you reuse those little ones?
This big ones I got from sustainable you can take them off and clean the screen and bowl and slap it back on.

I can't open it. They're fucked anyways.
I literally have the same filter as they sell at sustainable just don't have the 1/2" to blumat 8mm

Here's the site to buy alternative fittings to blumats, I just found it on the other thread.
I believe you want a 1/2 to 3/32 fittings

3/32?

The filter will be connected to the 8mm tubing

I'm using one of these which takes 3/8" ID tubing

A 3/8" to 1/4" reducer works fine to connect the 8mm line to the 3/8" line.
Available on Amazon $8/4-pack

Why do you need the 1/2 inch to 8mm?
Can't you just run the 1/2 instead of the 8mm? then just punch holes in the 1/2 inch line and push in some 3/32 barbs, that's what I saw people were doing on icmag

I need the adapter because the filter just has 1/2" threads. I could do it the other way I suppose just not ideal

1/2" threaded to 1/4" barb connectors exist. If not at Amazon, certainly McMaster-Carr.
You can get the filter I pictured with a barbed connection for ~ $8 and use a 3/8 to 1/4 barbed reducer
