UPDATE : VEG DAY 20

Today also marks the 1st day of 21days, using BOTH my 400w HPS (2ft high @ 14,500 lumens) and my 2 - 125w CFL's (10,500 lumens and 6400K each).
They'll get a dual spectrum for 12hrs a day when the HPS cuts on, while the large CFL's continue to shine 24hrs a day.
This is going to help produce some good vertical growth while still keeping the internodes close and tight..
I do this to also acclimate the babies to the HPS's heat, before switching to bloom with just the HPS.
Temps w/ just the CFL's = 78.6F
Temps w/ CFL's + HPS = 81.2F

ok no rooter plugs...check..lol

& :finger: lil bro, i'm battling 80 + with just one of those cfl's & two T5's, & four of those cheap ass first generation LED's, guess that 135 cfm $176 worth of canfan crap going to have to go, i'll replace it with a 6" 530cfm on a speed controler, see if i can suck them walls in.....lol,

are you noticing the difference with 24/7 compared to 18/6

Let me drop some history on THE most slept on Breeder around !
AND I FUCKIN MEAN THAT !!
Gooey don't sell.
Gooey gives........FOR FREE.
Gooey been doing it along time !!
But don't take my word on it.............get sleepin while I keep reapin.....the fruits that is !! [insert evil laugh]

Gooey Breeder Strain Guide
Well, it was in the 70's when Gooey's breeding started
and took 12 years, finished and found Gooey in the mid 80's and no, most of the seed stock got used in other projects and as I moved around alot, it was hard to keep things going. Friends ended up with many of the other projects and more than not was seasonly used for smoke. I do still have the Thai seeds( 80's) stored and a few of those first Maui's( I got these around 75-76 I believe. They were produced by the developer in 72), but in the past few years it's been harder and harder to get them to germ and I don't hold out much hope anymore. I also have some of the old indicas I used to use, but the road to high end hybreds from those now is long and I'm less inclined to use them as they too are both rare and less germing. I wish I still had the golds....they were amoung my favs.
As for doing things different , in breeding Gooey no, in saving the old stuff yes, should have worked more on preservation efforts. Wasn't my focus back then and now I think it should have been.
______________________________________________________________________________

Gooey( mom) is:
cambodian (70's landrace)
Mex gold (70's landrace)
Lumbo gold (70's landrace)
Thai ( 80's landrace)
Maui (1972 wowie from the developer)
Pure Gooey seed was cubed using the old SSSC S1

Purple Empress is:
African landrace from the Taz. region( I was given these seeds by a good friend who travels, it's what he told me. He said he also loved the tastes it gave)
70's indica (pak I think, landrace)
The heavy purple colors come from the african as it was all purple landrace stock. The flower time ran about 10 weeks to my taste. Crossing it with the old indy brings the time down to 8-9 weeks and fattens the flowers up nicely as well as gives a heady hash taste and smell.

Demencia is:
An old pre lavender strain ( what I was told from the old fart I got it from). Indica dom.

Demencia's Edge is:
Gooey Mom x Demencia

GooThunder is:
Referman's Blue Thunder X Gooey Mom

Deathgrip is:
GooThunder X Gooey Mom

Double Deth is:
Deathgrip X Gooey 96%

There are stages of cubing Gooey with S1 from SSSC floating around and they are:
Gooey 72%
Gooey 84%
Gooey 96% and
Cubed Pure Gooey seed that is 106%

Purple Empress is:
Old 70's indica (pak landrace I think)
African Landrace from the Tazmaina region

The 13the Oubliette
( The "new" GooThunder" Blue Thunder X Gooey 84%)
This is made from Refeerman's Blue Thunder x a killer 84% Gooey. The cross in slightly indy dom, but the Gooey's gene's help bring it into the medium area with average outdoor sizes from 4 to 6 feet with great side branching.
Color isn't huge but some pheno's purple up nicely. It has a rich hashy flavor and is a good smoke for after work when you want to relax and chill. 8 weeks is normal flowering and plants yeild very well. I forget things when I smoke this dope. hence the name. A few pheno's have elongation of 2, but average is 1.5.

Tyburn Fairs is:
Super Thai X skunk
GooThunder

Fat purple is( Zinn)
Soma's RocbudXGooey
GooeyXSputnik 1.0
GooeyX VBS male = Zinn
crossed with the 84%Gooey male.
The taste with this plant just blows ya away with it's hard grape sweetness and hashy undertones.
This is one of those smokes you want to show folks as well as smoke em out with as the rich dark purple colors and heavy purple and white and amber resin gleems brightly on it, covering it with a corse coating of dankness. They can grow very large as well. 11 feet and 5 feet across in good soil out side is easy to get. Slow in veg from seed till mass builds up, but then watch out! This finishes this line and Zinn is Fat purple's new name.

Frozen Lava is:
Lava X Pure Gooey male #1
The male #1 is slightly taller in stature and adds thickness to buds along with a nice sweet taste folks love. The resin coatings on this set are stunning, being highlighted by a wonderful purple flowering that is indeed a true purple.

I think your right, cooler club def needs a grow momma;) Oh we're all over it, he's been checkin out your set up all night lol. So the coolers obviously make a big diff temp wise then huh? I can't believe I've just found this sub forum, hell I've been takin advice from dirt growers! Actually the hubby's paranoia is fading, he's finally realizing how important this site is. We've just started 4 WWs that we got from the tude promo. Also got some sweet cheese put back, and TD that I'm terrified of after hearing so many horror stories lol. Yours are lookin lovely btw faithful! Anyways, I'm thinkin I may just start a thread on the WW in the next couple days in the DWC forum so I'll def post a link. Your advice would be much appreciated. We are using pretty much same exact nutes as you are. The WW is lookin good, we've got some bagseed thats going to be put outside that is a little further along. Of course my husband got a little carried away n over nuted them so we're tryin to get them back right. Men! Ah, one drop is good two is better huh? lol Anyways, sorry for the ramble! So glad I found your thread(s). Very interested in the Chernobyl:) And that Double Purple looks bad ass!!!

Coolers make ALL the diff in DWC.
To ME, DWC now means Deep Water Cooler !!
IMHO, hot water temps are THE #1 problem in DWC that leads to other problems compounding off of.

Post that link when you're set up, and the whole Fam will show up with support !

Would you say your buds come out the same as headies on the street flo? Thats my problem it always seems to be different, not as strong and fluffier for some reason. I just switched everything over to the cooler system now. Hopefully there will be a difference. I always end up still getting buying because of this

ooo ooo i got a mention ...lol, see we do actualy read these posts ya know...lol,

i also was swayed into the dwc & haven't looked back, once you start researching it, it becomes an obsession, well to me it has , ask me lil bro flo, aaww it rhymes..lol

don't be terrified of the TD just germ in moist paper toel in ziplock bag folded in half unzipped, warm place & your good, this has by far been the most succesful way of germing the TD & yes i did my research on it too...lol

please exuse the lack of punctuality n bs, lil head heavy & 1 finger typin, so get over it...lol, lil bro flo will come along soon with all them sexy lil emoticons & make us all laugh, (i love them things realy, sshh don't tell him that)

& mr growmomma yes some good reading is very beneficial, you read everyone elses fuk ups & it tell you... fuk i aint doing that, then you see all kinds of amazing & some that are just insanely outrageous grows it gets you thinking, hi btw ..lol

what else, oh yeah, yes coolers make a world of difference, basicly the cooler you keep the water, (65 - 68 seems to be the magic numbers), the better the roots will respond & less problems all round, so using a cooler versus a tote or plastic hydro setup its a lil easier to keep the water at optimal temperatures

& after all that rambling ..... :joint:

How are ya OneHit ?!
I have to toot my own horn at this one, but YES, my shit KILLS everything I've seen come my way through friends and they say that too !!
They wanna know why "my connect" (LMAO) doesn't go commercial because "his" shit always kills what they have found in the last year or so.
I tell them he's a personal heady, and nothing more so enjoy while they can.

Is heat an issue in your garden sometimes ?
That is usually the main cause for fluffy buds and/or lack of proper light penetration in terms of lumens/watts per sq foot.
The sun hits us with approx. 10,0000 lumen/sq ft.
Aim for the same in your garden.
I go for the lumens instaed of watts per sq ft.
That's where the Inverse Square Law comes into play (my sig).
Because we can all have the correct watts per sq ft (no less than 50), but if we're not using the light correctly with proper height placement above our canopy then the wattage don't mean a fucking thing.
I KNOW my 400w is useless to me beyond 25 inches, unless I want it to hit like a CFL..........and I don't.

My Hortilux 400w:
58,000 lumens/sq ft UP TO 1 foot from the light.
14,500 lumens/sq ft UP TO 2 feet from the light.
10,875 lumens/sq ft at 25 inches from the light.
Just ONE MORE INCH, 26 inches, drops my lumens to 7,250 and that would/should be THE absolute max distance.
Because at 27 inches it's now giving 3,625 lumens.

So as you can see, for EVERY inch I move my 58,000 lumens AWAY from my plants, I/we lose 3,625 lumens.
That's serious and makes a big difference knowing or not knowing.

hmmm now how do i plan the perfect bank heist :-?,

lil bro flo that vault of yours holding some real gems
I'm on a mission to get as much Gooey Breeder gear as I can ! lmao

I cant agree more Flo! I see a lot of people who buy the totes online from various stores and they seem to always run into root problems and then you have some solid info on this site about beneficial bacterias and how to brew your own tea's, I dont have to worry about these problems because my reservoir is always 65-68 degrees and I live in the hottest state in this country. I'm not knocking anyone grow methods or using "bennies" just one less problem I dont have to worry about & less problems are good!

Hey faithful, well of course u got a mention:) I'm excited to learn from both u and your bro! And I can't help to be terrified of the TD lol, it will be several grows away unfortunately. For one we've never cloned before, n I def want a good mother off it.

I have a feeling the coolers are going to be a necessity on into the summer, temps reach 100+ here. I kinda like the round Lowes ones, I take it they can be modified to work identically like the standard black buckets.

I also see you use the same foiler mix I got, I dont have the shultz or whatever yet. I havent really been usin it much, shit I forget lol. Ever get any burn spots, I see so many ppl talkin abt the water drops magnifying. Right now we are 24 on so no down time to spray.

N I'm quiet fond of lil bros emoticons myself, shhh;)
