Bought an end table that I swear is built wrong..

I bought an end table from the brick a couple days ago, it's something you have to build yourself... I got the coffee table together absolutely no problem but I swear to god the middle piece for the end table is WAAAY too small. They're kind of a weird style, they have curved legs that attach to the top of the table, and they mount on the middle because there's an in-between storage thing.., but the in between piece is like 3 times too small.

What should I do? The Brick already told me I was probably making it wrong, which is bullshit because the coffee table is the same design. There's no instructions whatsoever, only a picture of it completely assembled.. I swear it's the wrong middle piece but I can't return it cuz I already opened it., and the the brick doesn't believe me the piece is wrong.. They wanna charge $80 bucks to come magically put it together

I wish someone on the phone would tell me it was something I was doing...I'd saw the legs down and swear it came that way :)

oh...you should take it up there like it is and 'handle yo' biznass' start off at level 1, and go from there... be prepared to reach highest potential level of crazy...whatever your personal limit is, plus a little extra... drink a couple beers before you go that will help.

No instructions?, that's like putting together a model airplane by looking at the assembled photo. How many pieces came with this end-table?.

Edit: I just read their return policy...it's terrible.

There's like 6 pieces.. 4 legs, the middle part, and the top..

Your supposed to attach it all together very loosely so it fits, and then tighten it and it'll pop into place.
Not fuckin happening with this end table.. The middle piece for the table was slightly bigger.. So you had to force it in and then it held itself there.. But with the end table it's the opposite.. There's no way it fits.

I'll throw up a picture maybe someone has an idea.. But I swear it's the same design as the table and that was a joke.. I was high outta my mind when I put it together

Check these pictures out.... I can't figure it out.

Here's the table fully assembled..... and the end table is of matching design...

Look in the picture...the middle piece isn't even big enough to reach the middle part of the fucking legs.... but on the table it was no problem..

its a super easy design... I just swear the middle piece for the table is too small.

Hmm. Could you have used the wrong sized bolt which in turn screwed up the angle of the legs coming off the top of the table?

How loose is everything now? Make sure your legs are really loose from the top. Or have you tried attaching the middle to the legs before trying to attach the top?

That's not many pieces, I would take it back and tell them to RTV it...return to vendor. It's a manufacturers defect, they should take it back and it's actually part of their measly 7 day return policy.

are there like notches or something you're supposed to scew into the legs first? Are there any marks on the legs where the middle thing is supposed to go? If worse comes to worse you could just bring it up there to the store. You could also put nails or screws into the legs so it holds up the middle thing

I thought that was the problem so I took out all the bolts and confirmed they're correct. There's only 8 of them. Small ones for the top, large for the middle. The legs are barely in.. Just hand threaded them in with the bolt.. They wiggle over 1 inch.. If you bend the legs inwards and attach the middle it fits, but then it doesn't sit flush with the top.. And if you make the top flush you end up with what I had in the picture.. Enough room to spin that piece in the center without touching the legs.

Only thing I can think of is you have the legs reversed.

The legs are all the same shape and angle, identical. There's no difference in the legs. They are not marked differently.

I understand how the design works, I obviously built the table... But the end table.. Idk

Yeah, sounds like they fucked up the drill holes or notches where the legs attach to the top of the table. Gives you bad angles and a shitty fit.

Do the legs look square and uniform when attached to the top?

You can make them fit flush, yes... but then the middle piece doesn't fit... In the picture of the end table the legs are pushed 100% flush against the table... it looks good... its just the middle piece is too small.. The angles are correct and everything fits... but the middle piece is too small to reach the drill holes..

Thanks everyone, I've come to the conclusion that its fucked... Its such a shame cuz I love the table and end table.... They came together in the same box as a 2 piece set... so I can't just get a replacement end table... FUCK.

Don't know what I'm gonna do... scream at The Brick I guess... I'm not giving back the coffee table... but I'm going to demand a new end table.
