BOY GENIUS

Well-Known Member
After 9 years off and many, many life “experiences” i’m back to it. I was soil only for my early years 15-23. My first grow back I decided to actually try a form of hydro, ebb and flow. I think as I move along I will put Mother’s/fathers into dirt(finally have some homemade compost ready) and keep ebb and flow for working through strains.

Here we go:

4x4 tent
-couldn’t get the deal on a gorilla, got a shitty Black Friday version, because I already started seedlings and the wait was too long.

1000w HPs
2x4 tray, 3x3 on deck
Rockwool 4”cubes
General Hydroponics-flora nova bloom

My current and drying/curing grow consists of
-Brothers Grimm-geniusxg-13(fem)- headband x c99(fem)
-HSO -pineapple skunk
-World Of Seeds -Bubba Haze

First two pictures of Pineapple Skunk. First is a ripe pineapple/berry pheno. Second is a better yielder with tighter nodes, but with a general Fruitloop terp aroma.

Third is Headband x C99. Rock solid, sugary buds and finished at 63 days.

Lastly is the G13 x genius. This is an absolute unit. It’s a yielder and smells like hot garbage. I am chopping today at day 67.

I have AKBB Americanna x Beatrix Choice, Todd McCormick Skunk, headband/c99 x critical kush F1 in Veg. I’ve put these through hell and back and they’re finally pushing past the stress.

In flower I have Rosetta Stone from seed. I don’t see much resemblance to the original offering I grew almost 12 years ago. I could smell the gingerale in veg, but it has faded. From what I remember it packs on weight to form club headed, dense golf ball buds. I know this is a new lineage, but just not finding the same form and flavor profile in what made it to flower.
Clones in flower:
Headband/C99
G13/genius
Pineapple skunk
-I’m hoping to see better expressions from the cuttings. I put the parents into flower at 8-10” .I see a little more frost and a better aroma expression.

This is a problem I’m just now getting over. I’ve never had pest problems with indoor before, but this veg space isn’t sealed and I had potted vegetables starts under a fluoro that brought the baddies into the space.

F1’s and of g13genius x americannabeatrixchoice. Pollinated for F2. I wanted to see a “control” canopy with no bending or topping. I have run out of room even with putting them in flower at 8”. The male was stout like the 3 in the back.

I have tried some light training, but some may need to culled. These have weak laterals and unrealistic internode space for indoors. The night temps are high, so that could be tested during the winter run.

Day 60
Pineappleskunkx AmericannaBeatrixChoice starting to show some color change(other than burnt tips lol).
I lost the pheno that had more purple/pink, but her sister that I chucked has better form and the color is still in the gene pool. It still has the spear shaped cola, but larger structure.

Last plant left. A sativa dominant. Super stretch, but ended up training it to fit in the tent without topping.

Deep Cleaning the tent after this harvest. I’ll be switching to soil for vegging and pheno hunting. Can’t find enough time to clean the rez and that’s created many issues.

I have made the switch back to soil, although Flood and Drain really kicked ass during the colder months. The main reason is that I can easily keep the mother alive or reveg without too much hassle and I need my PG&E bill to catch up to a manageable level.

I had been just taking clones as needed , but an aphid infestation just sucked the life of my two favorite cuts. I will also look to fully separate veg and clone areas in case one area encounters a problem. Right now it’s gnats/fruit flies, but numbers are still quite low. My time is limited in the room, so I must abide by K-I-S-S.

I’ve dug back into the Pineapple Skunk x AmericannaBeatrixChoice F1’s and would like to see how dominant the terpenes are from the mother.

The Americanna x Beatrix Choice F2’s have been topped recently and won’t be ready for cuttings for a week.
The G13genius X AmericannaBeatrixChoice has 4 distinct phenotypes that I have sought to refine. Sativa dom., heavy branching popcorn nugs, semi branch large main cola, single stem giant cola. However, the seed viability is pretty terrible from the stress during seed run. Only have one or two seedlings from each category for this run.

pictures are mainly the Pineapple Skunk x

Using DE to get rid of the Fungus Gnats. Vacuumed up soil spills and added sticky traps. They seem to hate it!
Took a few cuttings of the first two Pineapple Skunks that are most likely male. Also added a space heater on a thermostat, since the garage doesn’t have any HPS running at the moment. Things should really pick up after Christmas.
