Hey guys.
So this is my first grow ever.
Could you tell me if this plant looks good and what strain is it?
I think this is flowering week 3 or 4 not sure.
I grew it from a seed that i got with my weed and if you want i can show you my frist clones aswell. Ps i know i burned it. :D

Not possible to tell strain from just a photo as there are thousands of strains. Bud hairs look fine - not going brown to early.
Thats good. I was scared that it's turning brown too quickly.
What do you think? Is it ok for a first grow?
I started growing it in a carbord box. :-D

Not bad for a first grow.

Next time keep the CFL bulbs within 1-2 inches of your plant.

When growing with CFL keeping your plant short and squat will be key, so look into different training methods for your plant as well. Even CFL's can produce a decent yield if you know what you're doing.

you need more light to finish flowering her. buy a T5 and use the CFLs for additional lighting-you'll thank me in a few weeks. bongsmilie

ETA: her pistils will continue to brown through the coming weeks - do not chop her early! she will put on the majority of her weight those last two weeks. nice job keeping her green for your first grow.

looks good, in the future keep the lights closer when they're young, as Cy said. and the one in the pic sitting on the floor next to this one, get it up closer now, get a box or buckets or something and get that plant within a foot of those lights.
do not use the color of hairs to judge when a plant is ready. get a 60X jewelers loupe or a 100X microscope you can attach to a smart phone and look at trichomes, when most are cloudy and about 5 to 10% have turned amber, thats the time, no matter if all the hairs are still white.

Triple check you have no males or hermies around, otherwise it's not a problem. Brown/receding hairs can mean they've been pollinated.

100% sure that its a female.
I checked every day. :-D
Yeah, no that's not what I meant. It's certainly a female. When you get/see hairs on a female that are brown/redish in colour and curly/receded, particularly early in the cycle like yours, that can mean that it has been pollinated. It can be pollinated by a male that's in the vicinity, or by a female turned hermie that develops "bananas" which are pollen pods. If you have no males or hermies around I wouldn't worry about it.

This was a grow that i did on pure luck. I had a seed that i got with my weed. I didnt know what was i growing until i went into flowering. And i only had one seed that turned out being a female so yeah i don't think that thats the problem XD

Looking good!!! I am experimenting growing completely organic. This is my first grown but I aged mulch for two years then started growing with it and haven't had to add much to it. When it was deprived of nutrients I would add coffee grounds and ground up egg shells. It worked every time on balancing it out. I also added worms to my dirt and this is the result of it. Keep up the good work. Going to try cloning it...:weed:

Early maturation and pistil browning is from a nute imbalance, some ionic elements promote early finish but its not a good thing.
I did not know that, thanks for sharing! I've been looking for that info for a while, just one of my 11 plants has had quite a lot of brown pistils from quite early in flower. It's still developing new white ones and is coming along fine, a bit behind the others but it's also the only one I used any training techniques on, just to practice, so it has more tops. I hadn't been able to find a reason for it, cheers :peace:

Browning to early is messed up, rarely was this a good thing when its happened to me, nutrient, heat etc etc. Plenty of threads of early/late finishing plants but the buds never look that great.

It's really weird, we're in week 7 now so all the other plants are starting to have brown pistils here and there too, but this one plant has always had them and is developing just fine, aside from a little slower.
